Hello everyone :)
Due to being really busy with University at the moment I don't have time to build anything and with that in mind I was going to just submit my FD3S. Is okay to have a link to my Flickr photoset for additional pictures, or should I upload more pictures to the actual MOCpages page? With that said, thanks for the invite and I can't wait to see what the rest of you build :D

Hey Rhys,
Yeah that sounds fine, your FD will be perfect for the contest! You may also post a link to your Flickr photo stream if you'd like, I understand that it would be easier doing that. Good luck mate! :)

Glad to hear that you have started building already! Unfortunately, something like an FXX, 599XX, Shelby Mustang's etc. won't be accepted in the contest. It must be a standard car originally and then modified outside of any tuning shops etc. So, to sum it all up, your car should be modified using aftermarket parts, custom fabrication, self tuning (lowering ride height, negative camber etc.), anything along the lines of that and it has to be modified in the style of a certain country or continents way of modifying cars.

As above, yes.

1. Pick a car, any car.

2. Modify it in keeping with the appropriate culture. E.g. Japanese manga van. Dragster American muscle. Euro-look VW etc.

3. Post it.

I'm going to say probably not, sorry. The thing about good contests is having a clear mission, in this case famous modifying techniques associated with a particular nation.

It's quite simple.

1. Pick a country with a famous type of modifying

2. Recreate a vehicle associated with this scene

3. Bask in the warm glow of your win.

Examples;
'Euro-look' VW - Germany, Netherlands, Belguim etc.
1/4 mile muscle car - USA, Australia
'Vanning' - Japan
Arctic Trucks - Iceland
Jeepney - Philippines

Etc etc.

Yes, you can. But you probably won't get a good score if you do.

This contest is called 'countries' customs. Not 'states'.

There are loads of possibilities to choose from. So often on MOCpages people try to make a contest fit their building. The point of a contest is to make your building fit it.

Good luck

Sorry Hank, but this is a contest for cars only, so your bulldozer will not be accepted. If you build a pick-up truck with 'bulldozer' styling, than yes, we'll accept that, but an actual bulldozer is not a car, so unfortunately we can not have it in the contest. We have to keep the rules strict, otherwise people will just start adding anything.

Sorry mate but they're just the contest rules.

Hi Wormy and Aaden

That's a nice engine!

However for contest purposes I don't think it's fair to score them as one model.

This is because that engine will not fit in your Land Rover. The skill with engines is to build the model with them in, making a picture of an engine and pretending it's inside is very different from building a model with an engine in it.

I don't think I'd be able to give you any points for your engine - sorry Wormy. But there's loads of time to build a model with an engine in if you want to, and as your creations are LDD you don't have to break up your Land Rover to do it : )
