I say try the Advertizing thread, or join a group meant for the sole purpose of trading comments.

No offense, but he had a point. Why don't you allow new threads, just wondering.

It makes the group messy.

We don't allow the creation of new topics since if everyone created new topics whenever they wanted, the group would get cluttered up and nobody would be able to find the topic they're looking for.

You could simply have done that in the other thread.

I agree with halhi. If you wanted to have an unorganized group you could always make your own group with you own rules.

The newer guys don't get paid attention too because of topics like this. It makes me not want to check out their stuff because it shows how desperate they are to get attention. If you look at the bulk of my stuff, you won't find things picking up until two years ago. Make friends, post stuff in groups, and don't worry so much and you will get what you want in time, other people will do the work for you, without you asking.

My thoughts as well.

I'm sorry. I'll stop adding topics.

My opinion on this topic is mixed, as I'm not new to MOCpages, but I am not a well-known builder(highest liked creation has 24 likes).
I build small to medium builds, because my lack of pieces makes anything large multicolored. Example: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/360667
But building big, even record-breaking isn't enough to get attention. Example: (not my MOC)
http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/73257
You aren't going to get famous fast unless you build good creations and you know a lot of famous MOCpages people that are willing to advertise your MOCs.

I disagree with this one. It's not really building big as it is more of presentation. One blurry pic of the whole thing and one small pic of an award? I'd like to see more, perhaps a video of it in action, but there are no extra pictures or links. If this had a better presentation, it may have been given more love.

Here's a link to see it in action. Don't know why he didn't post a link on his creation.

He still had it together last Brickcon at Chicago, though.

Its okay that you wanted to make a point, but you could have made your point in the general conversation or something.

Okay.

I'll address your original query. It takes time. Be active in groups, learn from others' mocs, be friendly and keep building. The harder you work, the luckier you'll get. Really.

That's too true! All I do is try to improve and be active. That's what got me to three 100s in less than a year.

I'm really happy that I got 64 likes on this http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/371367 But people commented on it multiple times, so it isn't actually 64 likes.

Also, don't post 5+ things a day. I looked at your stuff, and you don't get the attention on everything you want people because you flush a chunk of it off your homepage.
