Me and Hahli had this great idea. >:] ... Lets put Forced perspective backgrounds in our Builds. This way, we'll probably get a few extra points. And also focus on your story. A good story might get you extra credit also. Let's NOT get cocky on this. Everyone probably thinks we're getting cocky, but we wont! We will fight! Now let's beat those Crimson knights to a pulp.

Sidenote: The Crimson Knights have some good team members. Caleb R, Jacop Pennington, Thomas of Tortuga, A Sargent, and david, plus many more. So yeah. We might not have it as easy as we think. But we'll still win! WON'T WE!?!?! *Crowd screams YES!*

-End of Motivational speech.

Also remember to include lots of what you're good at in your entries. For instance, Halhi's strength is Rocks. He'll be using a lot of rocks. Build to your strengths!

I think the best opponents are Thomas and Jacob. Caleb's builds tend to be very messy, A Sargent's builds are good but I've beat him twice in MOC-offs (plus he doesn't really have a unique style or anything). Thomas on the other hand is really skilled with detail, and Jacob is pretty good at overall builds, even if the individual components aren't such high quality.

In Carthal there is no snow (I think, if the game is trying to be realistic anyway) so you don't have to worry about that. Search for Derfel Cadarn's "Detailed guide to making a medieval village" on eurobricks, It has plenty of good techniques.

Mosaics are not at all irrelevant. You could probably put one as a design on the ground of a castle or something. That could actually really get you some good points.

Well, each bracket leans toward a particular style of building. Heraldry will focuses on heroic deeds from your character's past, chivalry, that kind of thing. Wrestling looks like it could be just about anything. Foot Combat sounds like it will be epic one-and-one duels and such. And the Melee is all about teamwork and battles, likely calling for larger dioramas.

I've composed this little list of all the guilds (in order of combined skill) and all the members of each (again, in order of skill) for anyone interested. Thoughts? Are my perceptions of people's skill levels accurate? This could help in the 1 on 1 rounds, so we can strategize and give extra help to the people against people high on this list.

Crimson Knights:
1. Zach Lucia
2. A. Sargent
3. Jacob Pennington
4. Thomas of Tortuga
5. Caleb of Enalica
6. Andrew the Jedi Ninja
7. David ~Uberbricks
8. Warble Gloaming
9. Gabe Murray
10.Mr. Falcon Punch
11. Jonah the Befuddled
12. Wolf of Rainos
13. Chi Warrior
14. Darmen Skirta

Council of the Dragon:
1. Night Reaper
2. Adam Brunsting
3. LJ Smith
4. Elven Ranger
5. Lord Bacca

Council of the Dragon:
1. Mr. Cab
2. Bill Daniels
3. Legotier
4. Gabe French

Archons of the Roaring Lion:
1. Shawn Gibson
2. Justin L
3. Blazing Bird Man

Obviously some of us have more experience than others, but we're all improving. We may have varying skill levels, but together we make up the most skilled guild in The Tourney. Each one of us is going to be a help, and we'll all have fun. So let's stop worrying about how we rank compared to each other, and focus on working together to give this competition the best we've got.

I still do want feedback on the list of opponents though; I think that will help us for the 1 on 1 rounds so we can try to take those people out (by giving lots of help to whoever is going against the strong competitors)

I don't keep up with many of the people on the list, so I'm not much help here. The list looks good for the people I know, and this will definitely help us on the 1v1 rounds.

Style. You're one of the few people who has a really unique building style, to the point where I can easily recognize a MOC as being one of yours without even looking at the name.

Another idea: try to avoid positive comments on entries by other guilds, limit your comments to critiques (like "Not too bad, but I think the rockwork could be better" and things like that). Then judges may subconsciously be influenced by the comments (and do the opposite for our guild's MOCs, leave positive comments no matter how bad the MOC is)

I think the opposite is more likely to positively effect our scores. Give thoughtful, honest critiques. Point out what's good and what could be better in their MOCs. If the judges think of our guild as a positive and friendly, they might like us and be more inclined to give us good scores.

(Wow, I've missed a lot...)

I don't think either is a good idea. :P

People leave kind/constructive comments all the time, and while it /would/ seem like the rivalry thing is dying down, I don't believe it would affect the judges' decisions much. However, just toning down the rivalry regardless of any possible benefits would probably be a good idea anyway. Despite the playfulness, the jabbing seems to be getting a bit dark underneath.

Halhi's idea would probably be more effective, but it's also kind of nasty. Dishonorable, deceptive and underhanded. Very clever, I'll give it that...but something to be done to a really slimy group of cheaters, not semi-light competitors. I do commend your ability to think up stuff like this, though. :P
