ROUND 1
 Group admin
THE CATEGORY IS:
--Theme mash-up--
Make a new version of your Self-Moc, as it would look in a Lego SYSTEM theme, such as Rock Raiders, Ice Planet, or Blacktron. You will be making a Bionicle-sized Bionicle out of Bionicle parts; system parts are not necessary. You can use them, but your entry must be mostly bionicle.

Your entry should have a noticeably different color scheme from your real self-moc. You should make sure that your entry retains features of your self-moc, while also using features of your chosen theme. Remember, the "theme" of this moc should not only be colors; for example, if you choose Rock Raiders, your moc could have lots of drills, or if you choose Ice Planet, your moc could have lots of icy bits.
-----

--If you don't already have a self-moc---
You must enter your new self-moc if you don't have one.

If you have been planning a new self-moc, and want people to make this new version during the contest, you may enter this new self-moc, but know that we will judge these somewhat harsher than other entries. Unless I've already talked to you, it's probably best that you don't choose this option.
-----

Since I was late on this, I'm pushing the schedule back a bit so you get an extra day. You must post your entry by 11:59 EST on Friday, Feb 7 to be eligible. Remember to also read the rules in the rules thread.

Oh gosh I'm a bit late on this, I was thinking it's still saturday D:

I'm gonna fancy-up this post later, but for the sake of speed, I'll make the post quick now:

THE CATEGORY IS:
--Theme mash-up--
Make a version of your Self-moc, as it would look in another Lego theme (besides Bionicle, Hero Factory, or other contraction lines). It has to be something System, preferably with a memorable color scheme, such as Rock Raiders, Ice Planet, etc. It's always better to go for a weirder scheme than an easy one!

--If you don't already have a self-moc---
You must enter your new self-moc if you don't have one.

Since I was late on this, I'm pushing the schedule back a bit so you get an extra day. You must post your entry by 11:59 EST on Friday, Feb 7 to be eligible. Remember to also read the rules in the rules thread.

This should be fun. Alternate History version.

Problem is, what theme do I choose?

Maybe if you did it right, but I seriously doubt it. The lego movie is just a bunch of random stuff; there isn't really one theme to it.

Yeah, that's fine, but personally, I don't think it's as interesting as other themes. LOTR caters to the constraction builder; you've got warriors and weapons and armor and stuff already. In picking this theme, you might box yourself in with the typical, where contests are made to get you out of your comfort zone. If you do go with LOTR, I'd suggest going with something like a dwarf or elf or wizard or something. If you do some kind of warrior like an orc, you may just end up building a typical run-of-the-mill badguy bionicle. But this is only the eliminatory round, so don't worry too much!

I'd like to clarify something from the OP above. Grayson said that your entry should have a different color scheme from your normal self-MOC. In most cases I'd agree for certain. However, I'm pretty sure that it isn't 100% necessary, you're just more likely to do well if you have a different color scheme for the entry. (Correct me if I'm wrong, Gray.)

Well if your self-moc is white/blue, you PROBABLY shouldn't pick space police, and personally, such a choice would seriously affect MY decision. It doesn't have to be 100% different; but the more the merrier.

To clarify, CJ...
If you already have a self-MOC, then your category is to build a version of that self-MOC that fits another Lego theme, such as Castle, Aqua Raiders, et cetera.
If you do not already have a self-MOC, then for the first round, your task is to create one.

Did you properly format it? You can't just type the link; i.e. if you type "www.google.com" it won't be a hyperlink, it would have to be like "<a href=www.google.com>google</a>".

That's the correct formatting.
It doesn't work in comments or in the "introduction" box, but it works fine in the "description" section.
(And yes, you do need the HTTP prefix. I just had to remove it for this explanation because it causes the URL to get messed up if done in a comment.)

I hear you got it to work; the issue here is that you did have the hyperlink, but there was no TEXT that was hyperlinked! The first chunk of code: <a href=http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/23491>;, says that the words that come after are a link. Then you would put something like "Self-mocoff tournament", and after that, </a> says that this is the end of the hyperlink.

This is Marko's new Self-Moc that he's been working on. Remember, there was a clause that if you had been working on a new self-moc before the contest started, and were planning to be done around this time, that your entry could be this new self-moc so that people build the most current version during the competition. I think it's a very cool and original self-moc to say the very least!

Uhm, actually, it's made to fit the round theme, seeing as this is the original MOC: http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/cezium/9097176774/
Hence the multi-colored arm and the feminine appearance xP

I think you disqualified yourself feminine isn't a theme created by lego however belliville is and so is friends but I'm not sure it counts. But hey its Steve's choice.

Dude, the point of the challenge was to create a version of the self-MOC based on a theme of our choice. I chose "Friends". All sorts of "cheerful" colors (ie. orange, purple, lime, aqua) and the figures are female with female-like bodies as opposed to the basic minifigure are the defining characteristics of that theme. It wasn't exactly an option for me to cover the whole MOC in rainbow colors since its main characteristic is "It's a teal rahkshi". I compensated for the lack of colors by altering the overall figure of it.
If you would please clarify by what aspect am I "disquaified", I'd appreciate it.

I didn't say you where it's not my option in your last post you said the theme was feminine if you would have said friends it wouldn't have mattered it said a theme of our choice that lego made all you had to do is clarify not rage.

I think that
A) It would have been safe to assume that by "feminine", he meant "friends", seeing as the color scheme he used looks nothing like belville, which is characterized by pastel colors, and
B) It doesn't matter, because the "post your new self-moc" clause doesn't require that moc to be based on a theme.

*sigh*
Where exactly was I raging? All I did was pretty much clarify my entry.
As for the "if I had said I picked "friends" as the theme" part, if you had bothered to take a look at the description on the Flickr page, it's pretty clearly stated on all 3 images that I picked "Friends".

Well I had seen your post in one picture ios is screwy and so it only loaded 1 photo and I didn't see anything that said friends. Raging the manner you answered tried to sound like it was something i already know and I'm stupid for not knowing that plus I was just picking a joke not and argument (AINT' NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT.)

Well I think it was a good idea.... I had it figured out the moment I saw it but it was a good surprising idea.... Also I'm surprised that we're the only competitors because they're about 47 members.... cut short about 24 of them... But hey I didn't have to worry about getting eliminated the first....Heh heh heh....
