Descriptions of inhabited planets/moons:

Earth - 2094 technology- antigrav and interplanetary travel, but no lasers or FTL.
Faction: GI

Qoter - Most populated planet next to Earth, full of sprawling cities and factories. Technology is about 80 years ahead of Earth's.
Faction: GI

Etrion - This small moon of Qoter was once a thriving independent nation, but after a devastating civil war, the population vanished and nomadic raiders moved through. Today, the farms have turned to desert, and the cities are technically empty, but gangs, smugglers, and spies have made their home here.
Faction: Marauders

Soateria - Jungle planet, criscrossed by mountains and methane rivers. Few major cities, mostly built up of small towns here and there.
Faction: GI

Iapra - A unique planet, half of which is covered by thick tundra, while the other is covered in scorching desert. This is caused by the fact that it is the closest planet to the sun, and does not spin, causing the desert side to always be facing the sun. The snowy side does get sunlight, however, but only in reflections from the three moons surrounding it. Cities fill the equator of the planet.
Faction: Neutral; sympathizes with Marauders

Toliv - A planet covered with water, except for a few small islands. Below the water are a few major cities, with a Roman planet-wide civilization.
Faction: Neutral; sympathizes with GI

Zarus - This planet looks completely red from space because of the color of the clouds, which cover the sky. Although it has very little water, it has great mineral resources.
Faction: IAC

TIRUNEI: A blue-purple gas giant. Two inhabited moons:

Fuyorai - A moon covered in thick jungle, inhabited soly by small tribes who only speak native tongue, and are quite hostile to outsiders.
Faction: IAC

Rerador - A colonial planet of Qoter. Really evil looking planet, covered in active volcanoes and brown rock.
Faction: GI

Planets/moons from sun outward:

Iapra: N/Marauders
Toliv: N/GI
Qoter: GI
Etrion: Marauders
Soateria: GI
Zarus: IAC
Earth: GI
Fuyorai: IAC
Rerador: GI

Here's some planet ideas.

Maginok: A mysterious planet dotted with many vast ruins of an ancient and advanced civilization. An incredibly hostile jungle world, virtually every form of life on this planet has evolved to blind, paralyze, kill or make any form of foreign life uncomfortable on its surface. It is home to diverse and multiple snake species. However it is an invaluable planet as it is rich in many forms of medicinal and valuable essences and it's surface is riddled with ancient tombs, some containing powerful artifacts and technologies. It is a scientists playground. It's only settlement is a large military/mining base that moves every month or so, otherwise the entire planet will "discover" it's location and no military force will be able to protect it. It is often called: "Soldiers Hell"

Nar'Galathon : A massive space station in orbit of Maginok, it has no real value other being the largest spaceport in the solar system. It is infested with pirates and thieves with it's very government

Mumedis: A small but highly populated trading world covered in huge, but not advanced, trading cities. It has good connections to the Imperium though being rather rebellious. The planet itself is renowned for its natural beauty.

Beginning with cities for Qoter...

City one, capital.

CHININ: Known as the city of Wealth, Chinin is famous for its magnificent buildings including multiple gold-roofed casinos but it's greatest landmark is the Republic Gardens that take up many acres of land with beautiful plants and glorious statues of the planets past, all planted around the Court Palace of Justice, a vast triangular building belonging to the planets rulers.

City two, production.

VENOV: A bleak cityscape with many towering and vast factories pumping fumes into the air. It also happens to have some of the largest military production plants and shipyards in the system.

City three, residential.

ABADOR: the largest city district on Qoter, filled to the brim with towering skyscrapers and a few smaller public buildings.

City four, business.

MUNMEDE: A city made almost entirely from black glass, every inch of it designed to be the perfect business district.

Etrion...

"Capital"

Mon'Tirius

Mon'Tirius is the only city on Etrion that hasn't completely fallen into ruins. It is still quite basic with little advanced buildings and most of its ruins are used to hide ships and illegal goods.

The other cities are all the same in most ways:

Galathial

Yomonuri

Fordoma
Permalink
| January 20, 2014, 10:28 am
Soateria:

Capital.

ELMARLENOS: the planets first colony, built with tall, sleek, silver buildings Elmarlenos covers a large area within a crater on the planet and is renowned for its ability to mix with the planets flora and fauna.

Industrial

PARSOLIS: This city gives new meaning to the word "industrial" and serves mainly to provide the Imperiums army with medicines and food that grow naturall on the planet. It also houses a very large training facility.

Residential

NATHELIUM: A kind of holiday resort built on a small island at the centre of a large lake.

Business.

HARADROM:The planets trading centre, it's modern spaceport looking very out of place.

Marauders are everywhere. We're criminals, no where is crime free! Iapra and Etrion are said to be "Marauder's/Marauder sympathizer" but that's not the only place we're at.

Also, these cities are just rough drafts and ideas now.

Here's one.

CLOPEISSA(pronounced clo-pie-sa) A magnificent and modern city with the perfect combination of Fauna decoration and modern technology. It's many skyscrapers are based far apart and are tall enough to create lanes for even capital class ships to maneuver, there is a constant traffic of multiple different vessels. The city itself is star-shaped and has one of the star systems most advanced defence systems, including huge blast-proof walls and mounted cannons with enough firepower and accuracy to annihilate ships in orbit. The city is based around an Imoerial compound with doubled defenses and is lined with statues. There is no palace instead the High Courts stand twice as high as the rest of the might towers.

If a place like this is made the I would like to have at least an important place within its government.

Isn't Etrion basically a smuggling base hidden in some ruins? What if I caught Marauders who committed crimes against other marauders, or found missing objects? Not all detective work is about arresting people. Also, can there be at least one intact (if dirty) city on Etrion?

That's true. There is an intact city. For now, just call it Yamonuri.

Here is it's description-

Yamonuri is the most functional city on Etrion. Though it is still filled with crime, The Marauder's Organization keep the city from chaos. The Organization (brought to Etrion by Calagrade) runs the city and acts as it's government. The building has some ruins, but looks mostly normal: high-rises in all direction, some "government" buildings, etc.

Zarus - This planet looks completely red from space because of the color of the clouds, which cover the sky. Although it has very little water, it has great mineral resources.

There you go. Sometimes a bit of reading (ten seconds) saves a lot of waiting for answers (10 minutes to 10 years), as I have found out on numerous occasions.

Yes, but I can't find any planet that says it's owned by Aurelia.

IAC was what Aurelia originally was, but I guess it wasn't changed. I'll have Caleb fix it ASAP. I can't seem to find him anywhere right now. Maybe because he's moving to America currently?

Yeah, I was packing tons of stuff. It stands for... for... I don't remember, but I think it's the official name for Aurelia, so I don't know if we should change it or not. We'll have to ask Thomas, as he came up with it.

No offense, and I'm glad you're trying to help somebody out, but maybe next time you could read the relevant threads to inform your decision:

Zarus - This planet looks completely red from space because of the color of the clouds, which cover the sky. Although IT HAS VERY LITTLE WATER, it has great mineral resources.
Faction: IAC

Oh, didn't see that...

So when I choose a planet do I pick the planet that is with my faction or any planet that sounds good?

Any planets you like. Just remember that some planets may be more hostile than others.

Why don't we say that Toliv is ruled by a Theocratic government called the Red Templar?

For now we're not going to put any official governments on any planets. Not yet anyhow.

After reading this thread it doesn't seem like the cities on the planets were ever really finalized. I'm assuming, then, that we can pretty much make up what we want as far as Alien cities go, as long as the fit in with general descriptions of the planets. Is this right? I will look in the threads for one on cities in case it was there and I missed it.

No, you're quite right. You can pretty much make up what you want as long as it fits.
Earth is just more densely populated than it is today.
Qoter is pretty much one big, world-wide city. (Think a darker version of Coruscant in Star Wars.)
There are no major settlements on Iapra, just scattered towns and villages.
Toliv's cities are underwater. There are three major cities with a few smaller towns between.
Etrion was like Earth before it had it's civil war which destroyed everything. Now it is deserted except for Marauders and scavengers. The cities lay in mostly ruins.
Soateria has cities here and there with smaller towns between. Check the planet descriptions for more info.
Zarus is pretty barren. Hardly anything at all.
Just a few settlements.
Rerador has a few towns but no major cities.
Fuyoria only has small jungle settlements inhabited by tribes.

I hope that helps.

You would have to ask Caleb as I don't know what you're on about. However, what I can tell you is that I am basically the only staff member around now. Everyone else has vanished.
