Ok guys, it's over! Sorry I didn't check up things yesterday, I've been busy.
Now, we need a few days for judging but in the meantime you can send me an address to get your trophies. You'll find me at yurifassio@gmail.com.

Thank you Yuri. This contest was truly a blast!

I'm really really sorry, I completely forgot about the contest. My life has been crazy busy lately, what with increased workload to make up for Memorial day, haymaking and lumberjacking. I still make time for Lego, but I've been pretty much off any community stuff. Again, I'm really sorry about that.

Well, you've got to make hay while the sun shines, that's what I always say. I wonder how Yuri will decide 3rd place?

To tell you the truth, I've never seen a contest where 3rd place finalists drop out, so I'm quite at a loss here.
There's really no point for me to hold on to the 3rd trophy, since the other two are already packed, but I wouldn't really know hotto proceed. it wouldn't be fair to those who managed to run the distance if someone would get a prize by dropping out though...
I suppose a moc-off for 3rd place could be a solution, but all the same, I'm a bit disappointed in this outcome. Really this contest has been plagued by this since the beginning, and despite the twists and turns I tried to use to keep I interesting, the trend kept up until the very end. Disheartening, I'd call it, if not for the fact that I saw some of the coolest stuff ever.

I'll wait to hear from the contenders before making a decision.

I sincerely apologize...I feel bad...really I do, but the end of the school year, graduation and prep for college as well as a huge outlay of resources to make all that happen put a serious dent in not only my budget but my free time as well. As far as I am concerned you may send it to the spy guy...I bowed out first.

Congratulations Stuart! Awesome showing there, really got a kick out of it. Actually, a fine showing throughout, certainly some of your best work IMO.

Thank you Yuri! In spite of the hiccups, I truly had a great time building to meet your expectations and the competition. Don't consider this contest a failing as I sure don't.

Congrats again Stuart! (I seem to have trouble with you Brits in the finals. XD)

Alrighty then, the final standings:

For the REAL GOLD (plated) TROPHY...
Stuart Lucas!

For the SILVERy (chromed) TROPHY...
Matt Rowntree!

For the BRONZE (it's copper) TROPHY...
Superspy X!

I want to thank everyone who played, but I want to extend some special thanks to ME, for hosting this freakishly fun contest!

Also a great big thank you to fellow judge Mitchell Long (keep an eye out for this kid!) and a smaller thank you for forgetful judge Gringat, who still helped a lot.

Congratulations!

Oh by the way, the trophy's base can come either in black or tan. I find black more elegant, but tan gives it a classic look. Let me know what you prefer.

Always bet on black.

Yup, just quoted Snipes in Passenger 57.

Thank you Yuri, black will be perfect.

Wow! I am genuinely surprised to have won this contest, and delighted! I guess I'll definitely have to build the rest of that Star Trek story now. Thank you Yuri, Mitchell & Gringat for your favourable judging....

Yuri, I've said thank you for organising the contest before but I'd like to reiterate that. Any community, online or otherwise, only works as long as people give of their time & energy to make it fun. I've been on MOCpages for quite a lot of your 5 years, and seen how you consistently build up the community with cool ideas, groups, contests and encouraging new builders. In the oddly appropriate words of the Famous Five, you're a real Brick!

At the risk of sounding like an Oscar acceptance speech (well the trophies do look like Oscars after all) I'd like to thank my opponents too for a tough contest and some really fun builds, especially Matt, Superspy, LCV etc. I know that each of you is more than capable of out-building me, and knowing that made me try new things and hopefully produce better MOCs as a result. I'm sure we'll meet and compete again.

P.S. A black base is great for me too!

I'm not a host this year so I wouldn't know.

By the way, there will be a slight delay in the shipping of the trophies, but that's just me procrastinating to the last second and then hitting a bump at the last minute. A couple of days more.

Just received my trophy, Yuri. Thank you!

BTW I'm not sure if you knew this, but I took Emotitron over to Brickworld and the little scamp won Best Mech. Impressive field there but I think Chewie gave him the edge. ;) Thanks for everything as this entire contest was a real stretch and a true blast!

Congrats Gallardo!

Get 'em started early on the ABS. I expect we'll be seeing an influx of Duplo pieces from you. XD Don't worry, we'll still call it "style". XDDD
