July 13th eh? Should be interesting... guess I have four more days to finish the MOC I'm already working on. Or maybe I'll finish him up during the between-rounds.

I really ought to procrastinate less.

I don't fully know. I've decided to put "Stormjay" into my story as part of the Stormhawk lifecycle, one that would include Jethryn's V3, when the Stormhawk powers aren't fully revealed (in which case the Stormhawk name applies), but he's still pretty dangerous (hence my usage of the term as a verb). I figured that "Exserion" would be something further describing the Stormjay at this stage, but as to what it actually means I'm not fully sure.

Next you should state that the MOC NEEDS to have a much accessories as possible. As the theme only says "as much as you'd like". So personal preference costs people points just because you want to see more accessories.

There is a reason why I entered a Heromod, it needed to be simple as stated in the theme. And a 7-year old needs to be able to play with it, that means every single MOC in the contest that used the axle-balljoint connection should get max a score of 5. Because it will fall off as soon as a kid will play with it.

And I see the Ornak entry by Axel Schouten didn't follow those rules and it still gets somewhat the same scores.

I'm not saying I'm disappointed by my scores. I think they are fair enough. I noticed you gave some people high scores even if it didn't match the theme only because you liked the MOC.

This theme and the way the MOCs are judged are all flawed and I hope you change this in the next rounds.

When he said "capable of interacting with scores of accessories", I thought that made it pretty clear that we were supposed to have many accessories. Considering that half the write-up for the category was about the accessories, that should have given an indication of the focus.

To me, I find sturdiness and simplicity subjective. Why? Because my entry, for instance, was way simpler and sturdier than my normal MOCs (which can barely survive being built and displayed, let alone play). Maybe because I'm a system MOCer my standards of complexity are different from bio-Mocers, but I didn't consider my entry to be especially complex. It just used a bunch of normal technic connections pretty much all at right angles. No panels, unorthodox connections, fudged angles, using greebles as the framework (instead it had a technic frame covered with greebles), etc compared to the rest of my MOCs which contain most of the above. Now my first (failed) entry is what I'd call out of theme. It was extremely complex filled with tons of small panels hinged at various angles. It barely stayed together and needed rubber bands for a lot of the connections.

Even the "a 7 yo must be able to play with it" could be considered subjective. When I was 7, I didn't try to destroy sets/MOCs, I just posed them gently and stuff. I just spent a few minutes playing with my entry and none of the joints fell off, despite me pretty much trying to rip the arms off. A kid would have to be trying to take off the arms to have them come off, in which case he gets what he wanted.

Bottom line, scoring is subjective by nature and there's no way to stop that. Everyone will have different interpretations of the rules, so whatever. I actually thought your MOC was in category with three accessories (flag, sword, cannon) which was more than some other entries, but if the judges don't see it that way, then it's what they think that matters and their interpretation of the category is what we have to go off.
