Round 2
 Group admin
The Rules:

1- This round will have direct 1 VS 1 match-ups. The winner by the majority of votes moves up and the loser moves out.

2- Time Frame - You have until August 10 included, MOCpages time, to submit your MOC. Entries posted outside this time frame will be void.

3- Entries - This should go without saying, but yeah, only one entry per person.

4- FlickR - if you decide to post on FlickR, create a MOCpage here on MOCpages where we can leave our scores/judging. Remember to put a link to your FlickR MOC on that page, and use the link to the MOCpage, not the one to FlickR, in the R2 Entry Thread.

5- Reminder - remember to specify that your MOC is an entry for the 2014 Bio Cup (you can title it any way you want) and to add a link to you entry's page right in the round 2 entry thread once you're sure everything's OK.

6- When you post the link yo your entry, mention who you're up against, it will speed up judging.
Also, remember to put a link to your opponent or his entry in your entry's page.

When in doubt, double-check the rules and/or ask us. Better safe than sorry.

MATCHUPS

Toa Likus vs Timothy Wallace
Mohamed Marei vs Super Pikmin
Hazeroth vs Over the Rainbow
Axel Schouten vs Coconut Fanatic
Toa Ekorak vs Phantom Terror
Glorified Pessimist Vs Shoto
Oblivion Doomknight vs Ziontyro Metalhead
Mac Mars vs Halhi 141
Toa Jaton vs Smooth Jazz
Lego METAL vs Stephen Belthius
Toa Taile vs Saequis The Mage
Dylan Mievis vs Kraata Face

And the theme is...

BATTLE ACTION RAHI!

Create a Rahi and design your own playing functions and action gimmicks for it. You can draw inspiration from existing toylines or try to invent something never seen before.

Projectile weapons are a nice addition but don't count, unless they're both unique and clever.
Spring actions, lever actions and other interesting playing mechanics are what we're looking for.

And I had an awesome idea for this! ); But yeah, I could've done better for my first contest entry. I'm definitely putting into account what the judges said about my moc and use that for my future mocs, and next years Bio-Cup!(or any other contests I may join)

That's technically someone else's idea.
But if you want to build something inspired by it, as long as it follows the rules and the theme, that's cool.

Although we're looking more for "action" gimmicks, I don't feel like saying no, since it fits the "inspired by an existing toyline" part. Perhaps you could fit some automorph feats in it, or add some other function beyond it. Like mech-tech weaponry or something.

I'm kind of glad I didn't make it into the second round. I would have been destroyed with this theme. Though I'm frustrated that my favorite part of my creation wasn't liked among the judges. Oh well. Good Luck all of you who made it to round two!

Right, so I've ditched my original plans of making it transform, but is our MOC rated based on the number of functions it has or the quality of the functions? My entry is right about 25% complete so it would be nice to have this question answered.

Hm....that's worrisome, now that I think about it. My entry's at least 75% done with one good function, but I suppose I should probably fit in 1-2 more because it's not really extraordinary...

It's based on the overall quality of both the MOC and its function/s.
