I love the Lord of the Rings. I have memorized the normal movies and the extended editions. The extended versions are so much better. I've seen the cartoon one like 40 times. I've read all three of the books twice each.

I love The Lord of the Rings. I've read all of the books at least three times each, and seen all of the movies at least 7 times (rainy days, they are the best!) And I plan to rent the extended versions eventually. :D I have also seen the Hobbit cartoon, and the Fellowship and the Two Towers, but I have not seen the Return of the King yet. Check out my Lord of the Rings MOCs. Helm's Deep version 4 is coming soon!

One of my friends has seen the movies but hasn't read the books. I keep telling him to read them but he says that he "doesn't like them". To me, that is impossible. They are the best books ever. Period.

Has anyone here read the Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, or any other 1st or 2nd age books? (I guess you could count the appendices... :P)

Has anyone here gotten the two new books that Christopher Tolkien found and published? They are called The Children of Hurin and The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun.

I've read the Children of Hurin. It would have been cool to see it in epic poem form, though. Although it was really good in novel form.

Im planning on renting them the extended edition sooner or later I have seen all three regulars Return Of The King is Best and I will read the books definetely for sure..... I love to read!

I really want to see the extended editions, I know that they had some really cool parts in it from the books... like Treebeard's house, the Huorns at Helm's Deep, and the time where Frodo and Sam climbed down the cliff in the Emyn Muil. :D I'm glad that you're going to read the book. If you find the beginning a bit boring, keep reading! The beginning is good but the rest is even better and more exciting.

The extended edition is superb, but the books beat it all. I have a friend who says that he won't read the books because they are 'too complicated.' Pah!
