Logging in problem

Hi, my brother is having a serious problem on mocpages. When he gets on, his username is on the top of the screen and all is good. However, whenever mocpages times out and asks for his password, it says that he is sharing the computer with multiple accounts and has to wait an hour. The problem is that when he waits an hour, it says to wait another hour. Can you please help him? His name is Blitz the Thunder Spartan.

I'll try to make this as brief as possible. What's happening is both you and your brother are using the same computer to access mocpages. When he tries to log on and it says "no, wait an hour" then you are most likely saying "Ok, then I can go on until his hour is up."

The issue here is is that he can only log on AFTER you've been logged off for an hour. So basically, for you to both use the same computer there has to be a full hour (sometimes a little over but not much) of NO mocpages activity at all.

Try that and if you're still having the issue let us know. PLEASE be sure to wait a GOOD hour and a little bit between you logging off and him loggin in or it won't work and we'll be back to square one.

Thanks and good luck!

No, my brother is using a laptop I have NEVER used before, so I don't know what's going on, Chris.

It goes through the first time even though the page didn't load. As soon as you click Continue, MOCpages posts your comment. You don't need to wait for the page to load. The comment is there as long as you had an internet connection to begin with. For example, I closed my browser before the confirmation page loaded.

Yeah he never even touched my laptop. When this occurs, my name is on the top and I'm already logged in. For some reason it says that there is another account on it.

It has to do with IP addresses. Since you two are brothers you most likely have the same IP address, regardless of the computer.

If they share the same IP address, then one won't have internet access while the other does. If both computers have internet access at the same time, then it is not an IP address conflict.

If pyrbrick is right then this is not the problem. We are both able to get on the Internet at the same time.

I'm not sure that's correct. If both internet devices are using the same wireless router then the connection could be providing both access via the same IP address. They are after all accessing via the same device effectively even if it is two different machines.

I'm convinced the issue is definitely HOW they are accessing the net, particularly all this double posting they are both doing, feels like a connectivity problem.

Two computers with the same IP address can both be on the internet at once. They can't be logged in to MOCpages at the same time, however. This is to prevent people from having multiple accounts.

Ok, here is the story: You two share the same IP address. No way to change that, really. MOCpages does not allow two people of the same IP address to be logged in at once, to prevent people from having multiple accounts. You two will not be able to be logged in at the same time. You will have to wait an hour before logging on after one of you has logged off. End of story.
