Hi.

I have just joined MOCpages, and I was thinking about making a page that would give a preview of the creations that I will be building in the future. Soon after I started creating the page, I ran into a question that needed to be answered before I continued. So here it is. Since this page is going to be about creations in the future, and I haven't built the creations quite yet,I am thinking of finding a picture about the things I will be building. This is where I don't know what I can do. Am I allowed to find a picture from Google and post it on my page as long as the site with the picture lets me?

It depends on the copyright situation for each inage you wish to use. Remember whatever you post, each MOCpage must contain LEGO, otherwise it will be removed. Therefore posting a page of non-LEGO images wouldn't be a good use of your time. Maybe post your upcoming MOCs on your homepage instead.

Yeah, what Ape said is true. I have to delete posts all the time that are not Lego posts. My advice is to not post a page that tells what your upcoming builds will be and here's why.

You haven't built them yet so if you were to take pics of "regular stuff" off the internet (say for example, an x-wing) then it first, wouldn't be Lego and second, you'd have to know if the image itself was "free to use" from the net (most of those types are but just for arguments sake stay with me).

Second, if you chose to use pics of OTHER people's mocs then you'd be violating that rule about only posting your own creations... so I'd have to delete that then too.

I'd follow Ape's advice and simply make a list (try to avoid too many pics as it clutters up your home page) of your upcoming builds on your homepage.

A good rule of thumb for this site is if you didn't take the picture with your own camera (and it's not Lego related), then don't post it here. Follow that rule and you should be good.

Good luck and welcome to MOCpages!

hi i agree with the others above me but i would like to add that when you are working on them, you could add a WIP (work in progress)
