Uploading problem
Join to comment
I don't know if this is said before, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

When I want to upload some pictures, the Java symbol appears with a circle around it showing that Java is loading. But it keeps on loading for hours (yes, I haven't closed that browser for hours), but it still showed it was loading.

This is going on from saturday. I've updated Java, but still no result. I've seen new MOCs, so other people don't have this problem and that means it can't be something to do with the server. Please help me!

I'm afraid I'm poorly versed in the tech stuff, but I'll do my best here. Perhaps someone else who's had some experience will jump in. Meanwhile...

My first thought is to ask what size imagery your working with? It's usually recommended that image sizes are around the 600 x 800 range, and in JPEG format. Other formats and larger images have proven to be problematic.

Also, have you tried using the older uploader?

I can't even select photos, that's the problem! I'll try to explain a little better.

When you press 'Add photos', a new browser opens with the URL http://www.mocpages.com/lib/uploader2010/upload_FORM.php?main=. You get to see a picture of Java (the coffe cup) and the letters 'Java'. There also is a circle around it, showing that Java is loading.

My problem is that this image doesn't go away, so I can't select photos or the old image uploader.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. In the lower left hand corner of that window, there should be an option to try the simple loader. Have you given that a shot?

I take it you've not gotten any pop-ups on your screen indicating that your system can't run the Java aplett.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

Where can I see the picures I've uploaded and give discription? Or isn't that possible? When I press 'continue', I don't have images.

I'll try uploading in Internet Explorer (I use Google Chrome), perhaps that does work.

It works in Internet Explorer (I'll use I E in the future).

Thanks for your time and help Mark Kelso!

You might want to try a different browser and see if that works. I use Mozilla. Best of luck!

Glad you managed to get it rolling. This helps me as well. If someone else runs into a similar problem, I'll know to recommend Explorer. Thanks!

I'm having a little trouble uploading some of my pictures. When I click "Upload", half the pictures don't upload, and a little yellow triangle appears in the corner of them, while the other half DOES upload! Can someone please give me a little help???

Never mind that, for some reason, it's working now! :P

Glad it's working for you at this point. I'm still a bit curious as to the intial problem. I know I've had trouble with the old loader and larger volumes of images. I would have to load only four or five at a time. The new one seems to be tackling the larger volumes without too much trouble, though.

Yeah, I got that a while back too. Then it was fine with my last MOC, so hopefully it's fixed.

Yeah, it's strange... It happens randomly sometimes, then it starts to work again! Ah well...

Hi guys, I joined this group to ask a question. How do you put bold text on your MOC homepage?

Hi guys, I joined this group to ask a question. How do you put bold text on your MOC homepage?

When you're in the "edit my homepage" screen, there's a link that says "learn some simple HTML." Click on that and there's step by step instructions for adding things to your homepage including bold text.

Just do us all a favor and ONLY use the HTML from mocpages. There's so many people that put HTML from other sites on their homepages and all it does is clutter things up and causes problems (our system doesn't support a lot of HTML from other sites).

Good luck.

I'll post in this topic because my problem has similar symptomsas the one initialy discussed. When I click "add photos," the Java cup and spinning circle appear in the window, and a warning window appears saying that "Java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern. Block potentially unsafe components from being run?" Click "Yes" and you get an error message in the add photos window, click no and the spinning circle stops spinning. Either way the add photos window is frozen. Any suggestions?
