Unable to sign in using Google Chrome

Hey guys, I have a small issue I have been unable to fix....

I have 2 different browsers on my computer (Internet Explorer and Google Chrome). I always stay signed in to my account on IE, but recently downloaded Google Chrome and found it to be the faster of the two browsers. I ended up signing in on Chrome with my account, and would sign out every so often to check if I had gotten comments and/or favorites from people (I find that much easier than going to my Recent Activity panel). I have had this trouble before, but it only is bothering me now.

I was signed in on Chrome (keep in mind I am signed in on IE as well) and decided to sign out to check my activity. When I went back to try and view my page, it would not let me. This has happened before, and usually refreshing/reloading the page fixes it. After fiddling with the page for about 2 minutes, I gave up and was going to sign back in. The Account Sign In option is not working for me on Chrome, as the page for some reason will not load.

I know Chrome has an adblock feature, but I have disabled that. When it comes up, an ad space gives an "Error 400" request and the page will not load.

Is there anything that would be causing the site to not let me sign in, or is it something that has to do with the Google ads disabling the page? If it is something in Chrome itself, would anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Doesn't always happen after logging out specifically, just at random times for me when I'm using Chrome. I don't think the login has much to do with it, unless I'm misunderstanding your issue; this ad problem at one point prevented me from accessing my homepage for ten minutes.

No, that's not the issue. No ads are showing up (it says it's some type of service request error), and that is what is causing the page to not let me sign in.

Yes, that's what I mean. That's the same issue I had, except that instead of only blocking login, it blocks anything on MOCpages.

It's doing that sometimes, I can't view anything on Chrome now. It's been a few hours.

I figured out how to get it to work temporarily on Chrome (I'm using an Incognito window that doesn't save page history). But when I use normal Chrome - and now it's doing it on Internet Explorer - MP won't load at all due to ads. Help?

Ok, there are loads of reasons we can have problems logging in. Most are not related to viruses or technical problems with your computer so don't panic.

1st. Is the problem that your log in screen seems to hang? This is occasionally experienced when the servers are VERY busy, navigate away from the window and try to access the website again in a minute or two. You may find you HAVE logged in, the screen just didn't refresh.

2nd. Clear your cache file. For some reason saved info regarding your browsing history can have a negative effect on revisiting web pages. ALWAYS clear the cache before closing down your PC.

3rd. Try other browsers. Issues with Chrome may not be experienced on Firefox or IExplorer. Updates to deal with security issues can affect how your browsers work.

4th. Make sure you are using the most up to date version. Check out the help section of the browser to find out how to update.

5th. Are you experiencing problems viewing pages as a guest? If pages are slow to load images it is a good sign the website servers as a whole are overloaded. If so, just try again later.

With regards to the "large ads", what I've listed above can't do much about those. Your only options are to try accessing the website in private browsing mode, or safe mode (I don't use iexplore much so I can't really help with whether such a thing exists), this might prevent it.

Other than that, using firefox with an adblocker installed is the only guaranteed way to remove them.

I do hasten to point out, that since ads do not appear on the log in screen this shouldn't be preventing you from logging in.

PLEASE NOTE:

I've searched for Error 400 and the general consensus is that it is a server error resulting from a bad http request or address.

The only logical explanations are:

1. MOCpages has some bad code that is affecting the whole website. As other users aren't experiencing the same issue I'm not sure that is the case.

2. Your computer is affected by a virus. Please make sure you have performed virus scans recently.

3. The browser is adding corrupted information to the web search address. Other than clearing the cache I can't offer any resolution to this beyond what I mentioned in the last post.

There is a chance the issue could be your internet connection. If it failed even for a second, it can cause your browser to report an error. This sometimes happens if you are browsing via wifi connection.

Please note. On and off over the last week I've had failed server requests on firefox to access web pages here on MOCpages. The problem lasted all of 5 minutes and was resolved by the time I went to a different web page and came back.

This is just the result of heavy internet traffic preventing the servers processing the request.
