Ratings changing themselves
Join to comment
Okay, I looked through the topics briefly and didn't see one like this, so I thought I would address the issue. People's ratings on MOCs are randomly changing themselves. This happened with Cyberfrank 2010 and That guy you saw earlier. They both rated mine 5/5 then it changed to 1/5 and the other changed to 3/5. I asked them about it, since I know them to always rate 5/5, and they both said they didn't change it. They then went back and changed it back.

This also happened to George Marshall according to that guy you saw earlier.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I'm not sure where you are getting your information from? I can't actually see what individuals have rated on my mocs, only the overall total, which does fluctuate depending on whether people have rated less than 5.

If your total average score has fallen, it is because someone has rated you 1-3, and if that person is a guest who hasn't logged in, you have no way to contact them and ask them to raise their vote.

That said, it is a known bug that if people vote, then comment with a different vote it nullifies their previous vote. Best if you want to comment on a moc you have already rated to leave the rating button alone.

Also, which guy are you referring to? Remember your comment may not be read for 24hours or more, you need to be more specific.

I'm guessing from your PS about passwords that you, or they, think they have been hacked and their scores changed for them. I doubt that is what is happening, but if they want the admins to look into it please leave links to their accounts.

I found my information out because when I asked them about it, they went to take a look, and they confirmed that is was a different rating. And they didn't vote before hand, they only rated it through the comment. I am not sure what you mean by your 4th paragraph.

You refer to "the guy you saw earlier". I've no idea who that is. And Sean, Mark and Chris would have difficulty working it out too I would imagine.

And seriously if you have issues with voting on a moc, please post links to the moc. No one has the time to go through everything you've ever posted to figure out if there has been any fraud.

"That guy you saw earlier" is actually the guy's username. This has happened to me too, on many different MOCs, it seems to be if I'm the first to rate it.

I've rated MOC's 5 then gone back to my favorite creations page and seen them changed to 1 or 3.

"That guy you saw earlier" is his name. I should have made that clear. And the MOC's where here

and

As you can see, this appears to happen to other people as well.

Hello sorry for the confusing name. I can verify what caleb has said. My rating did change itself and i only posted a comment. I rated Caleb's creation 5/5 but half an hour later it changed to 1/5 by itself. I think this has only happened since the last update

Sorry for the confusion, I forgot there was a member called "That guy you saw earlier" I thought he was referring to someone who had posted here previously... As I said, links make it much simpler.

I've just checked his list of people who voted 4 or 5 and you are still there, so I do not think your votes have been changed at all. But I notice you have voted and commented. When you commented did you vote again? It is a known bug that this can affect the overall score.

That would be because I changed the like back again ;-) I only commented though :-/

This is definitely happening. I just commented and 'liked' on John Fink's creation. I went back later to see if john had responded to my comment only to discover my 'like' had disappeared. It has also happened to some of my mocs. I assume it is linked to the homepage problems

Yeah, the like feature is definitely not working. I checked mine on Friday and two or three people who had liked them have dropped off the list. This isn't offsetting by trolls giving a low score to counterbalance a high one, but an issue with the database "forgetting" likes.

Not sure why it is happening, not sure how to fix it.

I'm sure now it has been mentioned someone will look into it properly.

Yeah, this never got fixed.

Not only did it happen on this MOC, it also has one less like than it should. It has 6 ratings and 4 likes

I'm going to send Sean an email regarding this apparent glitch. I meant to do it in September, but had several weeks of travel and just dropped the ball. I'm not sure if Chris sent him anything or not. But, if so, this will just serve as a reminder.

Hopefully, we can get it straightened out.

I've seen this happen a few times from my own ratings but just assumed that I misclicked (for example, a 4/5 becoming a 1/5) although I suppose that it would actually be due to this glitch.
