I noticed it hadn't been talked about a great deal, and I've had a look at some of the figures. The heads and new armour colours definitely look like fun. Your thoughts?

Yes, I'm talking about the bigger, HF-like "Buildable Figures", not the minifig sets.

Oh yeah, and Marvel themed ones. Can't forget those licences lol

yeah, my intial choices are GL and Joker as well, for the parts specifically, however some of the others have interesting new molds as well. Have to see what happens when they are released, next month ^_^

Well, what could I say about these guys? I tend to be skeptical first regarding 'rip off'-sets, but here's what I think at this moment.

First of all, they seem pretty much a side extension for Hero Factory, as their structure and equipment are quite alike, though no zamor launchers. The new colors and pieces are quite cool though, but require a lot of collecting to have enough of the color for making any mocs, say the purple of the joker for example. Some of the recolors/pieces would be nice to collect, like Batman's wings and Captain America's shin armor. And to be honest, since when Hulk had silver shoulders? xD

Second, the heads. I can find zero uses for them, as they are too recognizable to be on any character. Also regarding making a moc of a superhero, they will put the lazy mode on for the builder, by giving an easy non-custom head choice, which I personally don't like. It lessens the effort. I prefer the imperfect custom heads.

Third, the prints. They should've stayed stickers, but all I see in the promo pics that they are prints, all the hero logos. It will be hard to find any use for the chestpieces, except for Hulk, as he's got no logo.

Last but not least. Anyone else noticed the thighs of all the figures? It looks like they've created an extension piece for ball sockets. And that is, gentlemen, awesome =) A very nice addition for detail work.

Ye,s there is a socket extensor. Wich is awesome. As for the sets themselves, they look pretty sloppy/ugly, but there are some interesting pieces, so, perhaps I'll end up buying one or two... Almost surely if there's a discount involved, as I've seen happening to the Ben 10 sets in some stores...

Oh yes, the socket extender was most intriguing. So many possibilities. The fact that this is a cash-in for the liecences isn't a great deal of the problem. Printed pieces? We'll figure something out. Heads? Never said they were going to be used as heads... ooh, a headhunter moc... Hulk's shoulders, probably from a design and versatility aspect, else it'll just be green and blue/red.

And well... Batman!

The socket extensor came also with the Phantom, I think. I have 2 of them, and I'm not so sure where they came from.
Oh, and I can think of a couple of uses for the Joker's head, off the top of mine :)

Ahh yes, I think I remember seeing those socket extenders in the upper arms of the Black Phantom when I grabbed the instructions a while back to see what new parts he had.

Yeah, I really don't care for these much. The heads are useless, IMO, and I don't see any reason to get them unless to get the few cool pieces that you can't get on an HF set. Example, I would like to get Batman's wings and swords, the Joker's purple and trans, Green Lantern's mata green, Iron Man gold and red parts, ...nothing from the Hulk (seriously, I can't think of any uses for that gargantuan chest piece), and maybe Captain America's knee caps. Of course I'd take the limb extensions that come on all of them. ;) So really, I'd just use Bricklink.

The green on Green Lantern isn't Mata Green, it's bright green.
