To do list(in my opinion):
-Find new enemies,an active group that is not us!
-Get more people to join us.
-Make more creations.
-Be more active.
-Take the space game a little bit more serious,or add something cool to it.
-Use the Combat Arena;
-Have meetings.
-Have more ideas.

That's it so far..more coming soon..hopefully.If you have more ideas, please feel free to comment.

That's not a bad list. I'm not sure if Parrington would agree, but I don't think that looking for enemies in other active groups is the way to go about it. We're not exactly a "We build stuff, you build stuff and we declare a war" kind of group. It's a story driven group. At least that's my impression.

Parrington, please correct me if I am wrong.

You got it. This group here is all about the wars between the G.A.I.A. and the Draggone, as main stream of action. Though sidestories are allowed. The enemies are the Draggone, as described on the group's homepage. And literaly, this enemy doesn't already have a "real" face. Look, there are only about 3-4 Draggone creations, so our concentration should lay on the Draggone. Besides that the list sounds good and maybe we should let the Draggone group fight against the G.A.I.A. group!?

Bang on Marc, For the most part, the Draggone are the enemy, and that is why I set up a group for them, so that if anyone wants, they can join it and do war against GAIA. We always need more Draggone builds, but none of us ever have the time, lol. All good.

Now yes there are other aliens out there, but for the most part, the fiendish Draggone have either enslaved or wiped them out. So anyone is free to Moc alien stuff, it's just they will be refugees, slaves, nomads, etc, not a new powerful empire.

My original idea was for a Space faring Earth, with a substantial spread of planets, and no prior contact with aliens, to become suddenly embroiled in a WWII like scenario where the aliens were many, but for the most part, headed by the Draggone.

As soon as humanity makes contact with these new Draggone, they are basically at war. (I actually have written the very scene some years ago and may upload it some time, it's just that its many pages.) And the Draggone attack visiously, as they are used to winning, but are quite surprised by the enormous strength of humanaity's forces.

Why have the humans such a war engine in space when until 10008 they were alone. Because they have been dancing around a 1984 style cold , sometime hot, war, and have had to build and build and build their respective deterants. Funnily enough, mankinds ability to do harm to itself, is what inevatibly serves as its salvation.

So in concluding,
-The Draggone are the main face of the enemy. -Humanity is split into three major factions, who have allied against the alien threat. These are GAIA, Am-Space, Galactic China.
-The war is contained within the Milky Way
-There is a theory that the Draggone originated within our galaxy from the black hole in its centre, having gated through it from the heavens knows where. They are experts at navigating Blackholes, something that human science says is impossible.
- Humanity uses gates and wormholes to travel through its territories.
-Humanity uses split particle resonance chambers to allow for instantaneous communications across infinite distances.
-Humanity uses Dyson spheres to harness the great amounts of energy its space ships require.
-Humans typically live 300 years or so, some much longer.

All this and more, I will reiterate in an overview Moc in the upcoming future. I hope these pieces of info help guys? Cheers all, chat soon...

We got to make more Draggone creations!

That would be great Commander Steal. They generally are all black, with green high lights, and either trans green, trans neon green or sometimes trans yellow glass. And they are kind of spiky and evil looking in general. If you click the Darggone link in the GAIA description, you will be take straight there to see what already exists. Cheers!

Hey, thanks for the overview, Parrington. That did clear some things up for me. This will be interesting, introducing the ESC now, since there are some key differences. I am so looking foreward to this.

Oh, and since I no longer need the ESC thread, and that's not what it's being used for now, could you either lock it or remove it?

Fancy working some sort of 'Ark' or colony ship into the story Parrington? I have a microscale 'Carrier' on the way (my biggest build to date, but not quite on your scale yet!) After that I'm planning the aforementioned Ark. I loved the film 'Silent Running' as a child, but really don't fancy tackling all that red lattice on the Valley Forge from the film - so I'm going for my own interpretation of an 'Ark' ship.

I have to admit, I'm struggling to move from minifig scale to microscale, but enjoying the challenge. Gawd knows what this carrier is going to look like though - but it won't be blue. I phoned Dulux, they said they were all out of blue spaceship paint. I wonder why that could be...

So how strict are we on colour scheme? I have my first SHIP almost ready, its tan/dark bley/hint of yellow (I mean a hint!) - an acceptable addition to the GAIA fleet? I'm a bit worried it doesn't fit in with the GAIA 'style', but it needs a home ;p Oh, and it has a lot of guns =D

Okay, as described in this post: http://www.mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=2893&topicid=30315 the colour scheme is imperative. I think you already know that. BUT, what would a rule be without any exceptions! So, if you call the ship clearly a GAIA ship (like G.A.I.A HMS .....), you may give it a different colour scheme. If you do so, make sure that it has a fitting backstory to explain the exception. Who said that GAIA wouldnŽt have special units, e.g.! I also see potential for a new part of the already existing colour scheme, since all colours, so far, concentrate on fighting forces. Thinking of cargo-, colonisation- , pioneer-, medical-/miltitary hospital-, secret service-/stealth- parts of the fleet. Oh dear, there are so many possibilites. Just wrap it up with a conclusive backstory and youŽre fine, IŽd say! Btw, canŽt wait to see it! ~Cheers, Marc

Hehe, g'day guys! yeh Marc summed it up perfectly, mate we are all about having fun here. But yeh, a spade is a spade so to speak in terms of the story line. Proper GAIA vessels are either red&blue (Earth fleet) or red and grey (Other world fleets) Of course this applies to mainstay battleships. Other craft can be anything. That said, the GAIA verse includes room for attaching other schemes. For instance Afrika use yellow for their vesselsm AM-SPACE white etc...

Of course, you could always state the GAIA vessel is in its original PRE GAIA heraldry in your Moc, and was re-sprayed just months after the pictures were taken. That kind of story telling is all we are looking for Jon. Just enough to keep the storyline in tact. Hope this helps ;) Can't wait to see what you have for us mate!

Cheers Parrington, will do my best!

Just realised what a pain it will be to photograph this thing - it won't fit in the photocube I've been using at work, so could be interesting :)

Btw, don't know if you read my post above re. a colony/ark type ship. I have a potential storyline in my head to fit it in with GAIA, but I'd run it past you first.

If you're interested in making a colony ship, you should take a look at my Corporate Sector ICARUS. I hope it'll give you some ideas.

In other news, RGF Productions' mainframe has suffered a catastrophic failure. Satsu is offline due to a power failure in the Liquid Imagination collection system. Hopefully the problem will be corrected within the next week.

Oh yeh, great idea! Mate colony ships is a totally difefrent department. GAIA proper is a military fleet, it's colors only requied by military ships. A colony ship could be being paid for and run by Coca Cola for all I know, yeh, any colour scheme is fine. Ofcourse, any shipin GAIA space can be badged GAIA as a sign of belonging, but unless military, is under its own jurisdiction. If any of that helps Jon? lol...

Once my computer abilities have improved, I will try and put up a GAIA devoted site.

Cheers mate :)
