I have started to sort my legos. I have been sorting them by piece, and by color for bricks that I have a lot of. (Basic builing bricks, plates, etc...) I have been sorting them in boxes and bags and I am getting a tackle box to sort smaller pieces in. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions to help me sort.

What I do- and what's been working pretty well:
Mainly, sort the pieces by colour, but find separate boxes/drawers for minifigure pieces and burps (large pieces, like baseplates).

If you have a large quantity of a colour, make sure you have an extra box/drawer, to make searching easier.

That is kinda like how I used to have it. But it was still hard to find a specific piece of one color. So I am trying to do it by piece for pieces that I have less of and color by ones I have alot of.

Although it is hard because of my wide variety of pieces.

I am almost done sorting. I just need to buy some tackle boxes to but some small pieces in.

What are tackle boxes?

What you use to sort lures and hooks and stuff for fishing. But they work well with sorting small lego bricks. Here is some examples of them being used with legos.

I have finnaly found some descent tackle boxes and I am now putting my small sorted legos into them. Now all I need are some large containers...

I have my legos organized, but it gets anyoying to have to keep re-organizing them after building mocs and getting new sets. I have about 2,000 legos just waiting to be sorted...

I now have a pretty good system of soring my Legos, and I only have about 1,000+ more to sort. I might post a moc of my collection soon.
