WWII Sidearm question
Join to comment
Howdy everyone, I had a question. I am planing to order about two dozen Brickarm M1911's to arm my US Army minifigures that I use for WWII battles. I currently have plenty of rifles for them, but I was wondering if it would be historicaly accurite to arm my minifigs who are riflemen with pistols as well. Did riflemen carry sidearms? Thanks, Bill

As far as i am aware during ww2 most branches of the US army all carried sidearms. It would have been all ranks of soldiers weather they be front line combat troops. Or support troops eg: artillery and logistics, who for these men a rifle would be too cumbersome for everyday use. Whereas the 1911 colt .45 gave them good stopping power in a small package. I hope this helps.
