We have received a lot of communication regarding LEGO Brand Retail involvement with Brickworld this year. Well - here you have it. Now, you know what we know. Brand Retail is once again a major contirbutor to the event!!!

In-Store Event:

Friday June 19, 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM at Northbrook Court - Special offerings and deals havenít been specifically defined, but we understand there will be some.

In-Store Discount:

Thursday June 18 - Sunday June 21 all day at all 3 local stores.

Purchases under $100 will receive a 10% discount

Puchases from $100 to $150 will receive a 15% discount

Purchases of $150 and above will receive a 20% discount

We realize many of you have brick related businesses and see this as an opportunity to stock up. The LEGO Group has asked that this opportunity not be used for business purposes but for personal collections only. The LEGO Group is providing the discount to reward BrickWorld attendees for their participation in the event. Please be respectful of your fellow attendees.

Pick-a-brick at Brickworld

LEGO will be providing a special pick-a-brick at Brickworld in the display area. We will open the pick-a-brick Friday (afternoon time TBD). And, it will be exclusive to attendees until public hours open at 10 AM Saturday.

Thank you LEGO!!

We look forward to seeing you in Chicago when we light up the night with World of Lights!!!

Regards, the Brickworld Team

Brickworld will be held June 18 - 21, 2009 at the Westin North Shore Hotel in Wheeling, IL (a suburb of Chicago).

Awesome...awesome...awesome!!!! Thanks for the heads-up Bryan. Looks like I'm gonna have to sock some more cash away. Will the P.A.B. in the event hall be accepting credit cards by chance? ;-)

-Dave

I would ask the same. My plan is to use the credit card for all purchases over the weekend (or until it explodes, which ever comes first).

Great Dennis... How am I supposed to sell MY kids with you flooding the market? I guess I'll have to sell my organs instead. Grr.

My dear, you know I've only got one kid and I'm down to one kidney, one lung, one eye, and . . . well let's just say one of everything. I'll help you find a market for your crumbcrushers, promise.

This brings to mind a question...Does this include the PAB section? If so, would it be more cost efficient to purchase from the store vs. the PAB set-up at the show, or will the show be offering the same discounts with PAB as the stores? (you can see where my attention is focused...but when you don't have a Lego store in your area, ya take advantage of any opportunity!)

It is my understanding that the PAB at the event will not be the same as the in-store PAB. But, the discount applies to PAB at the store. The event PAB will be specially priced as I understand it.

We really have to hope they do the PaB BOX like they did last year. THAT was EPIC!!!

Oh, yeah...I'm all about the box! (leave it alone, guys. Just leave it alone.)

AWESOME! Thanks Bryan. Yet another reason to stare at the ceiling for the next month in sleepless, wide-eyed anticipation!

I see that some of you are regarding the PAB as something special this year, could that mean...that PAB at Brickworld is going to be different than the in store PAB? Bigger? Special Prices?

According to my informant...PAB at the event, on Saturday, will be $5 a grab bag (you fill your own). Cash only! There are no discounts or loyalty stamps on PAB sold at the event.

The PAB at the store will be different than what will be at the event. The $150 boxes should be available, if Northbrook has any more in stock.

Adam, he's not kidding. There's nothing more depraved than a Hoosier artist (God, I love my home state!)

I'm a Colts fan, so Hoosiers are always welcome up around here!

Today is final layout day! Set it up, and figure out what details I still need. Then start to pack.

I have a feeling that Thursday morning, in the parking lot of the Westin, there's going to be a makeshift LEGO party. Plenty of us standing around waiting...should be a good time!

Careful Dave, I think that was a threat, not an invitation. Just keep your back to the wall and you should be fine.

Actually, Phipson's taking the second shift at Lucky Pierre's this week in preparation for next weekend.

It starts June 17, 2010 and will be held at the Westin Hotel in Wheeling Il. There's about 30 places here with the link if you need more info but I "think" it's Brickworld.org

Hope to see you there ~ Chris.
