Brickworld - The BIG Announcement

The Brickworld Team is thoroughly overwhelmed right now. We have set a record attendance level and are fast approaching what seemed unattainable a few short weeks ago.

There are presently 427 registered attendees. We can only guarantee goody bags to 480 attendees. We will most certainly have some kind of goody bag for everyone, but we will not have enough of everything to populate an unlimited number of goody bags. Logistically, we simply can't get more of everything in time for the event.

So, you didn't stop reading this message? You are probably thinking that this wasn't a very big announcement yet. So, read on.

We are overjoyed to be able to announce to everyone that we will be honored with the presence of Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and Jorgen Vig Knudstorp at Brickworld. They will be arriving Friday (hopefully in time for opening ceremonies at 4 PM) and staying through Saturday or possibly Sunday.

We look forward to seeing you in Chicago when we light up the night with World of Lights!!!

Regards, the Brickworld Team

Brickworld will be held June 18 -21, 2009 at the Westin North Shore Hotel in Wheeling, IL (a suburb of Chicago).

That's not a big announcement -- IT'S GIANORMOUS!!! It's great that everyone from the top down at Lego is interested in what fans of all ages are doing, not necessarily how much cash they can get out of our wallets. This is terrific news!

Bryan, this is FANTASTIC!

I can't tell you how excited I am that the Gods of Mt. Olympus are descending from on high to mingle with their faithful followers! The fact that Kristiansen himself will be here, speaks volumes as to the quality of the event your holding!

As for attendance, yet another feather in the Brickworld cap! Let's pack 'em in like sardines!!!

Have I mentioned I can't wait? 27 days and counting, people!!!

You'll have to excuse my lack of wit as I'm still trying to find my lower jaw here... WOW! Thanks for the AMAZING update! See everyone soon! ~ Chris.

big snip

Holy cow...it was just over a week ago we had 427 attendees. Now we are at 522.

My wife has already pulled 1 all-nighter to get badge info to Tommy at Brickengraver. I foresee another coming for MOC cards. Turn em in quick!! I don't like it when my wife doesn't sleep :)

Thanks everyone for your support!!!

WOW!

Thanks for this info. I was really down yesterday, 'cause my friend isn't coming along, so I'm travelling all the way from Croatia alone. But this one really cheered me up, and reminded me that it really doesn't matter. All that matter is LEGO!! So, I guess I'll be hanging with Kjeld on BW. ;)

So sorry you'll be traveling solo on your way over. I travel a good bit, and fun company always makes those international trips more enjoyable. We'll do our best to make it all worth your while, though!

Thanks! Well, I plan to be the guy who always "tags along". LOL. I hope you won't be annoyed. ;)
