I wish, but now that they have the Indy license...

If they do, I want to see pyramids. Or Nubia. Or both.

Dude, Nubia is not going to happen. I don't care how ahead of his time Indy was, Nubia wasn't recognized as a great archeological civilization until the '70s.

Indy's canonically been there, and it wouldn't matter to Johnny Thunder; there are still tombs to rob priceless artifacts from.

I always thought they lived in other universes, in Indy's, Atlantis existed and H.P. Lovecraft applied, and in Johnny's, The Lost World and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Probably. Why creature from the black lagoon? Or is it something about those crazy monsters from Orient Expedition? Anyway, are there any Lovecraft Indy references besides (apparently) Tomb of the Gods?

Maybe Johnny and the gang can visit other “lost lands”, such as El Dorado, Avalon, Camelot, Atlantis, Lyonesse, Mu, Lemuria, Ultima Thule, Agartha, Shangri-La, etc.

This kind of inspired me to ask this (as well as to build Lego Adventurers).

I really loved the Adventurer line, I wish they would bring some back in some form, maybe combine them with the old Monster line and have Johnny go toe to toe with Dracula!

So what you're suggesting is that the Adventurers line goes from being "Indiana Jones wannabes" to mimicking Van Helsing?

Well, yes, I suppose. That way it would distance them from Indy a bit and place them firmly in the realm of "Other Universe". They could combine the treasure aspect with the monsters. Make it more of a fun, mak believe line.

Not so fast. Indy's gone up against vampires, zombies (with 1337 martial arts skills), evil spirits, giant lava demons, ice golems, ancient gods, mummies, and more.

Plundering treasure from monsters? For some odd reason, Dungeons & Dragons comes to mind…

Well, I do not know Dungeons and Dragons, but I always pegged Johnny Thunder as a treasure protector and the chaps in black as the robbers.

Again, *kinda*. They actually turned out to be people with that one hair growth disorder that makes you have thick hair all over, but they sure looked like werewolves.

I always saw Johnny as a scientist and not a plunderer. He would go after semi-legendary but not supernatural treasures, but for the good of science. Also, he would have to deal with Egyptian curses (a few would be real, a few) but could also explore Maple White Land (for non-readers: A. Conan Doyle's the Lost World) and the Black Lagoon. I guess he could get trapped in a mysterious castle on a rainy European night...

Aagh, when will you Indy fans get it straight, there dosn't always have to be an artifact!! I think a living vampire or a Gill-Man specimin is a lot more scientifically important piece than the Raiders Idol.

The whole xenobiology gig wouln't be too far of a stretch after Dino Island, and all the exotic legendary creatures of the Orient.

No, I think finding aliens would be too far. Unless someone really did it believeablly and well, that I might like to see.

Johnny Thunder: archeologist, explorer of Maple White Land, monster hunter.

You may claim that, Mr. Albright- but explain this!

-Henrik Mellberg makes reference to the fact that "all Western cilivization will be swept away" in Manhattan. William Dyer states at the end of Mountains of Madness that "everyone could die-everyone on Earth!"

-Both Mellberg and Dyer share the archtype of the guilt-plagued scientist.

-Both the Tomb and Leng are located in a dangerous and freezing location.

-In At the Mountains of Madness, evidence of the Elder Things is discovered in a large bore-tunnel, AND the enterance to the Tomb in Tomb of the Gods.

-Both Leng and the Tomb drive members of the expeditions insane.

After I finished the last issue, I was sorely disappointed with the lack of originality and dubbed it "Indiana Jones and the Rip-Off of H.P. Lovecraft".

Hmm.. It seemed lovecraftian, but not all that much like At the Mountains of Madness.

Cryptozoology- get it right! Nah, go by Victorian phrases if it suits you. Indiginous peoples are now "Lost Tribes"!

Also, the Tomb's builders didn't sound to me like the elder things. The Mi-Go, maybe...

I miss the Adventurers line too. But the Indiana Jones line dosent dissappoint by a long shot, and kinda brings back some of the details that Adventurers had.

I agree. Early on, it was hard to build good Adventurers MOCs, but now we have better, more detailed artifacts (in 1996 the Raiders Idol would have been a grey T-Rex baby), the Wild West theme, and Indiana Jones to add to it.

Really? Who knows, that could have been posted in '98. Link please?

Well, even if that dosn't happen, we'll still have Prince of Persia coming up.
