I hope you know I don't mean the airbender. I personally love james cameron's films: terminator, alien, titanic (a bit of a change from the genre setting sci-fi films). And finally, on December 18th, his next film Avater comes out, which I have been anticipating for some time. I doubt that anyone else out there though has even herd of it. I watched a trailer in cinema last week. Optically, it's promising a colourful and great movie but they didn't say anything about the story yet. Permalink | October 16, 2009, 3:59 pm |

Yes, Iīve watched the trailer too. But in my opinion this is just another movie about the human race creating a intelligent race or something else but then fighting it. That reminds me of movies like Matrix, A.I, or King Kong ( I know King Kong is not created by the men). By the way I think everything looks like a mix of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.
But I havenīt watched the movie yet, so maybe Iīm misjudging and everything is totaly different. This is just my first impession Permalink | October 16, 2009, 4:22 pm |

Actually, that couldn't be farther from the truth, but I'm not going to you what the actual plot line is. You'll have to find out for yourself (hint hint: wikipedia). Permalink | October 17, 2009, 6:21 pm |

But I will tell you this. Avatar is going to be a lot like Dances with Wolves, except the "wild west" is replaced by an alien planet with large floating rock formations and precious minerals, the Union soldiers are replaced by the US military (or some new world army), the indians are replaced by a bunch of blue skinned aliens, and Kevin Costner is replaced by a paraplegic marine. I went and saw the movie like 3 weeks ago, it wasn't as good as I thought. :( I gave it a 7 out of 10 rating. cool concepts but the plot was lacking. way to much curseing. ( I herd about 20 cuse words!) over all, just an okay movie. :( Permalink | February 20, 2010, 12:52 pm |

I've watched it some weeks ago and it couldn't have been more different than I exspected it. I was totally wrong with my comparisons about the story and I'm really sorry for that :) All in all it was a cool, thrilling movie, that I'd gladly watch again. The story was OK, a little long-drawn-out with action scenes, but the effects and 3D were just overwhelming. It was definitely better than I thought. Permalink | February 22, 2010, 1:23 pm |

Well, Avatar is a huge step in cinema technology and visually and emotional worth to watch. But still not the best movie of the year, and there's better sci-fi too. Permalink | February 22, 2010, 1:41 pm |
