How many people do we want in our group? I think that we should only be an elite 50 builders that try to restore LEGO Star Wars.

No. Elitism is overrated and unfair.

We may as well have a billion members, I don't really care. Our real goal should to recreate the whole saga in LEGO. And as a push, we can add a select few scenes from the Expanded Universe.

Good thinking. We should try to make this a mega-group of the best Star Wars builders (so it is kinda like an elite group if you think about it) But the main concern with having a million people in a group is if it will get out of control, some people won't participate in conversations etc.

I say the more the merrier. If every member has the basic same idea (making worthwhile SW MOCs), then there's no harm in having many members.

I like the idea of pulling MOC's together to recreate the movies in Lego. I don't agree with a mega-goup idea. Some groups have like 900 some members. Things get lost in the shuffle with that many. I think 50-60 would give a good base, conversation would be manageable, MOC's wouldn't get lost amongst a flood, and everyone would be able to get to know each other. (Sorry, rambled enough.)

I think 50 is a bit to much, what about 35-45, that seems a bit more controlable

I'm just inviting every good builder I can find. I don't care what the total group count is. I keep a very close eye on this group and the conversations, so any number is manageable in my book.

I think 50 is the perfect number. We can call this group amongst ourselves the Elite 50

Well I wouldn't call myself "elite", although I think I'm pretty good. We'll see how things turn out...

If this is going to be an 'elite' group, the title should probably be changed.

By the way, I am an Admin and founder of an elite group, the LEGO Star Wars Guild. It's public but admission is by approval. You can join if you have 5 or more SW MOCs that are liked by at least 3 people.

Somebody earlier said that calling your group elite is unfair and overrated. I guess he's right. I actually think that we should change our group name to Alliance to Restore LEGO Star Wars. What do you guys think?

That would imply that this is a Rebel-orriented group.

It also implies that it's a Star Wars related group

I'm gonna keep the name the way it is for now. Like I said in another comment, let's see how this group evolves...
