New Mmorpg creates some conflicting feelings in me- first of all i really despise the fact that it is massive multiplayer online- but not console game... also i don't like it's design- it ooks great- all art depicting it and videos and stories are great- but there is one major problem watch this and you may understand:

As you can see there is too many already seen Sw-elements- Sith Emperor in carbonite chamber? Tie Defenders ??? Aayla Secura??? clones? no they are supposed to be republic troopers -but no they look like clones or stormies- also red guards are there what the he*k are they gonna redo Star Wars - with new mix up- i liked Kotor since there was different more believable galaxy 4000 years ago- but in that Old Republic some 100 years after that seems to be more advanced technology than in Star Wars itself- planetary shields and all- there is no such things during the Clone Wars either- all shields are small in it- so why they had to do all again- there is millions of possibilities but seems that Lucasarts guys run out of imagination...

I watched the video. I think what they're trying to do is tie this game into the prequals and OT. The soldiers do look like clones, but I'm guessing they just have similar armor. The Imperial ships look like predecessors to SD's and maybe the TIE Defender design has been around for a while. I'm not sure about the Aayla Secura thing. Maybe she's a great grandmother or something.

Well "Secura" is only thing that is not problem- she is just blue Twilek jedi with not much to wear XD- but they have 4000 years and nothing changes- in Kotor there already were plagiarization of old sw (Goto is imperial torture droid upside down and ithorians have almost imperial shuttle- looking well ...shuttle)- but there is so much possibilities to design throne of the Sith Emperor and they added him in the middle of the Bespin carbonite chamber? that really disturbs me that anyone could have done better with some imagination- however there is also good material in this game- republic "hammerhead" ship is the new version of one seen in the Kotor and not all places are copied from the movies- but i wonder why they used fullarmor republicsoldiers- now there is not a big difference between sith and republic forces- and both look too much like clones- in Kotor sith had silver armor and republic sldiers rebelkind of suits (but red/yellow color of them was h0rrible i think)

I thought this took place AFTER KOTOR, so this would be like 1000 BBY, since this is most probably before Darth Bane made the Rule of Two. To me it seems like SW technology is eternally stuck in the same period from post Naga Sadow to Legacy technology seems the same, and I've heard that the Republic troopers armor is made to resemble Clone Armor, perhaps Clone Armor is a permutation of that armor. I beleive the Sith battleships resemble SDs to show why exactly people fear it's iconic shape.

this tooks place AFTER kotor but only some hundred years after it -so almost 3900 years before sw- i just wonder why they had to copy some places like that carbon chamber - doing new sw-looking stuff is not so hard...

Kotor took place around 3900 BBY, this takes place around 3600 BBY, I really don't know why, perhaps it is to keep a classic Star Wars feel, or simply incompetent designers.

I'm guessing they did certain things to keep a consistent look and feel throughout the saga.
