A couple of the ideas I've been trying to figure out how to implement in Micropolis are:
- Amusement park
- Water treatment facility
- Oil/gas plant

All three of them would tend to involve some really odd shapes at that scale so I haven't gotten very far with any of them, but they're pretty much constantly in the back of my head.

I badly wanted to do an amusement park for Shannonia, but gave it up as impossible at that scale. You'd have slightly better luck at the larger micropolis-scale, but still -- I don't see how a good roller coaster could be done. And what's an amusement park without a good roller coaster?

The roller coaster is a problem for Shannonia scaled MOCs, but I would think a ferris wheel might be pretty simple. Especially if you're thinking in terms of something like the London Eye.

Yeah, Amusement Parks are pretty much impossible for most microcities, unless you want to make an indoor one. Then all you'd need is a 2x2 brick. =)

Adding to the topic, I've always enjoyed making old-style homes like I see a lot where I live.

I think you could do a coaster by using those older 1 stud wide hinges, but I havn't tested the thought. I always wanted to build a major league stadium of some sort, I dont care what sport just a full size stadium.
Also a farm, and an airport.
I also think a river valley or hills, or a beach might be fun.

My thought for a roller coaster construction always involved a lot of flex tubing and clips. And a large baseball stadium is also on my list of things to build someday, along with about a million other things...

I was thinking that hinges with the black poles would be the legs and the Star Wars wheel machine, which I apparently don't know the name of, would work fine if you want a brown coloured coaster. By the way, industry has already been done. We should make farms, stations (like police, fire, schools, hospitals), or a freeway. If you make mini cities, this will be easy. I don't know about micro besides the stations.

I know for sure that both Shannon Young and I have done police and fire stations, as well as hospitals, And I probably wouldn't do farms because I mostly like to build downtown buildings, but a freeway is a nice idea.

Sorry about that I don't know how to reply!

I think a freeway would be nearly impossible because of the circular exits I don't even think 1x4 hinge plates would do the trick, and nither would the low-level jotainia sized bridges (Jotainia not posted yet) would work out with the elevated exit (on 1x4 hinge plates). Please tell me if you make one!

Just wait and see until I make a freeway. Just wait and see...

Really, I got it. I'll be making a Mini and Micro version, though Micro will be tough.

Cheers,
Kenneth

I built a Roller Coaster! Just wait and see. I don't know when I'll take pictures, but it's done.

Excellent! I'm looking forward to seeing pictures when you get around it.

It's really simple, actually, and is a back-and-forth ride. Other then that, please enjoy. Also comes with a ferris wheel which is really compact and several other components.

I'm thinking about making an addition to Kairosberg with a huge area for building and servicing spaceships, as well as a marshaling yard and the Nile river merging with the Rhine (I just love the weirdness).
