Hi david...I don´t have many ww2 aircraft, only one, my B-17. I´m planing to build some kind of support fighter for the Invasion of Normandy (D-Day)diorama I´m working on. Can you give me any tip about the planes used there? I know they had black and white stripes on the wings as a indentification for the allies. Bruno

lets see you would probably want to do a p-47 thuderblot or a b-26 maruader cause thats what they used on d-day and yes they do have the invasion stripes

you mean the b-29 superfortress??? i definately think you should biuld it, my advice if you are doing it minifigure scale to make sure you have alot of bricks and the wings are going to be tough to do but just make sure you make the wings have to or three layers of plates for the wings other then that i say biuld it! :)

Dont bother, unless you have a LOT of gray bricks as it is a big aircraft, 50 studs accross.

You could go to a lego store, they have a ton of dark grey 1 X 3 and light gray 1 X 4 for $15. That is, if theres one nearby.

Hey, Glad you asked. You can order just about all the same bricks that they have at the lego store online at Lego "Pick a Brick". Pick a Brick has a fairly wide collection of bricks consisting of 1,000 different bricks, so hopefully you will find what you are looking for. If not let me know.-----David

One second, i have a book that talks about it... let me find it. The project C carried the project f suicide rockets. The rockets were quite similar in appearance to the japanese okha. Except i think the germans used a jet engine, versus the rockets used by japan. apperantly kurt tank (Who made the fw 190 if you dont already know)designed bits of it.

Yeah Niko i think your right. I actually looked and it was the Daimler Benz project B model that carried the Project E fighters. The Project C model carried the project f rockets as you said.

Yeah fortunately the war ended before most of these technological wonders could be used in combat. Although we should also thank the bomber crews that halted the production of such planes.

yeah, i think the lancasters pounded the factory before any where produced.

yeah i think yor right. Oh and when i was bulding my Go229 i was reading on the internet that the Go229 fighters might have seen combat before the war ended, although production was halted buy the bombing of Hortens factories so most of the planes were destroyed...

I think somewhere i have a picture of an allied soldier sitting on the wing of an abandoned Go229 in a forest. Interesting how in a matter of hours it went from heavily-armed interceptor to picnic table.

Hello all, I look forward to being in this group to gain inspiration for my world war 2 airplanes, I believe that I may eventually try a P38 Lightning as it was one of my favorite birds. Any suggestions on how to go about building one?
