the Big River

In the series I'm writing the hero will have to cross the big river in order to get to the Elven Forests (he comes from the middle kingdom)
I was wondering how he should cross the river,

is there a bridge ? ( maybe something like the Bridge of Eldin in Zelda Twilight Princess)
or does he have to use a boat,
or is there an tunnel under the river
or is the river so dangerous there's no other way than walking around
or can some watercreature(s) help the hero

And what about the magic, the river was formed by magic, are there still signs of that magic ?

That's about it I think,
I thought I open a topic before building something that might not match Legonia

My only creation about. Maybe you have the pieces to rebuild that fishmonster and want to use it.

Well, the use of magic is the reason why the river became that big, aside it's just a river and natural border between human kingdoms and elven world, so i think, there are no bridges but many boats and ships.

thanks,
I can't make a fish like that (atleast not with the same pieces)
but I can make a boat in the same style, I happen to have those ewok glider sails,
so I'll use Elven transport
