Contest #3; Starfighter
 Group admin
Alright, next step in our ascending ladder of contests! The Starfighter Contest!

Rules:

What: Starfighter (two seater or less). Must be able to travel from planet to planet and fight equally as well with or without an atmosphere.

Judging:
1. Adherence to theme (Either 18th regular Air Service or Death Guard is acceptable)
2. Originality of concept (Is it something we've ever seen before?).
3. Originality of characteristics (Should that size of aircraft really carry that big/small gun? Or are the engines too powerful/weak for that craft?).
4. Feasibility and "coolness" of storyline (Not too far removed from reality)

Awards:
1st: Promotion to Minister of Extended Air Service.
2nd & 3rd: Promotion to Carrier Group Command.

October 31st seems a reasonable period, but I can extend it another week if y'all need the time.

Size limit's in the rules. Just make it with two or fewer pilots (no droids). Colors are in the rules when you go to add a MOC to the group, but are flexible.

Hello! I've already posted my Skyhawk here (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/106239), but if it's legal to still include it in this contest, then the Skyhawk is my entry. Thanks!

Can I add another entry? If not, can I replace the Skyhawk with the TS Home Skillet? I feel bad entering an old MOC. XD

I was going to mention that, I didn't really think about it before I said it was ok. So, yes, you can replace it! I think this one is better personally. I'll have my entry up either tonight or tomorrow.

Oh, that reminds me, because I'm entering this one then I'll need at least one judge. Any volunteers*?

*DISCLAIMER: Volunteering for judging does not in any way affect my opinion of your entry for the better or worse. You do this for your own personal satisfaction and the service of the 18th DSF, thank you.

Actually I didn't know I belonged to this group until I searched through my groups today...that's when I found that contest...

I uploaded a fighter today, but it has a Japanese flag symbol on it. Is that valid? I mean, I don't know what this space fleet is about, but I think it takes place on a future earth? So why shouldn't there still be some Japanese remnants by then...

Well, if it's valid...here's the link

if not, please let me know ;)

Grrr. If one more person confuses us with the UNE, I think I'll do something... Anyway, you're not to be blamed. The story's on the homepage.

No, it might outscore my entry... Just kidding.

It won't score very high in the adherence category, so you'll lose points there, but if you're good with that than it's ok.

You're good, and thank you for your activity! I'd sacrifice five expert builders for someone that'd be a continuous contributor! You still have time to change your entry if you wish, or you can see how it scores on Saturday!

Alright, as of now, the contest is closed. A big thank you to all of the entrants, a really good job! I extended the prizes to include a fourth place for accommodation.

After deliberation and hard consideration, here are the results:

In first place (drum roll please...): Aiden Bryant with with his HAAF-1 Arrowhead (fast, hard to hit, and saves carrier space)!

Second place: Master Shifu Leo J for his TS Home Skillet (definitely saves on material costs)!

Third place: LegoTrooper 101 for his Interceptor/Gunship (I really like those triple-barrels!).

Fourth place: Captain Duncan for his X-2561 (rugged and dependable by the looks).

Honorable Mentions:
Space Pirate, very nice design, really sleek!
Ultramarine Skiver (Me) uhhhh, 'cause I really like my design?

I was very encouraged to see everyone's entries, impressed actually! Good job everyone!

For awards:

Aiden Bryant, you are hereby promoted to Minister of the Extended Air Service.

Master Shifu Leo J, LegoTrooper 101, and Captain Duncan; you are all hereby promoted to Carrier Group Command of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Flotillas respectively. To glory, men!

Again, a big thank you and stay posted for more contests and fun in the 18th Deep Space Fleet! Oh, we do have a sig-fig contest going on too if you all feel like entering!

Fourth is no shame, considering the prize was the same as second! The third Flotilla is as powerful as the 1st & 2nd, don't forget!
