Quoting Architect of Vonthako
Topic to discuss ancient languages (big surprise, huh?).

I've always found Latin to be one of the coolest languages ever, for all intents and purposes (shouting battle orders, quoting wise proverbs, having a large quire chant it ominously in a Gothic cathedral - and I'm not even Catholic).

Another dead language that I think is really fun is Nahuatl (the language of the Aztecs). Anyone who's ever read up on Aztec history and tried to pronounce some of the words (i.e. "Huitzilopochtli", "Tenochtitlan") will know what I mean.

When I go to high school (next school year) I am going to be taking ancient Greek. I was going to take that or Russian, but the Russian teacher may retire so I don't want to start it and be left in the middle.

I would love to learn greek, since I already know Russian and there are a lot of similartities (since the Greeks helped develope the written Russian Language).
