Quoting Galvan .
Coalition Archeologists have discovered an ancient tomb apparently used by the founders of the Coalition. On certain walls the history of the Coalition is written and depicted. With this knowlege we may soon un-ravel the mystery that is the begenning of the C.O.P.

Official records that still exist (yes, the 40,000 year old ones) tell us the leaders of the founding planets (Tarsis, Vogelia, Thyrenda, etc, etc...) did... something... Perhaps this tomb will tell us what exactly they did. Perhaps the tomb will reveal our past with a greater clarity. Perhaps we should just leave it be for fear of revealing a darker, sinister goal of the Coalition's original leaders.

Perhaps we should wait for another update.

There will be one last POAM, but as you might know, my laptop's harddrive is shot, so... So, I lost the ability to do something that needed to be done. Don't worry, I'm working on a solution now.

The 3rd Fleet is based in the Thyr system, which, along with other systems in the area, have planets dotted by mysterious ancient ruins that are about 1 million years old...

And ancient war machines and engines? Let's quote POAM:

"Man in white: Itís a history we keep hidden. Hundreds of thousands of years ago, maybe even a million years ago, now, your people, the machines, ruled this galaxy. But there were some who resisted, using their technology to enhance ourselves. Those resistors, they were us. And we won. Generation after generation fought in a bloody war against your oppression."

...Something here has been discovered, methinks... (I just put the peices together, I didn't stage this!)

Thyrendi as a race haven't been around 1 million years, but those ruins have.. So I presume ancient Thyrendi ruins mean that it's reffering to the modern residents of those places with the ruins.

A second room has been un-earthed within the coffin are deffinate human remains. Along with the body was what appears to be a premitive data pad charged by the sun. The screen is broken and stuck on one message:

///Beginning Message

If they dont agree we will all die///

The Collective grows restless///

We may die///

But we will die so others///

////End Message

Our historans are translating the rest, but strangely it appears to be an ancient earth dialect called Cherokee....

On further note the walls are painted with what appears to be human blood....

I shall investigate this further....

i will make seperate logs for my part of the research

but so far the writing is still showing signs that say one word in each phrase "north" i will explore the north side of the ruins

3rd log

to stop bloodshed we found an animal and cut it once and placed the blade to the wall...at that moment the wall opened to reveal a huge cavernous tomb

an overeager soldier of mine ran forward only to be disintegrated by a few beams! the rest of the troops stepped back

at this i realized somthing that couldnt be possible but tried it anyway. i picked up the animal and tossed it to the beams...nothing happened

blood recognition! the beams wouldnt fire at the offerer so i cut myself and offered it to the wall...and took a step forward

i was ok! so i ventured further...and now i am deep in the cave/tomb studying the markings and corpses alone with my troop watching from the entranceway

Odd... The ancient machines were supposed to have been completely eradicated, save for a few space hulks. How could a machine exist back then? Keep in mind that that the COP is 40,000 years old, and the last of the ancient machines were killed some 1 million years ago. That's a large gap of time.

Considering how the modern Thyrendi evolved 200,000 years ago, yes. Plenty of time to reach space age technology (thank you, ancient derelict in orbit!) to take part in the founding of the Coalition and the Emperor's (there were a few, actually) Great Crusades during the first 5,000 years.

Considering how the modern Thyrendi evolved 200,000 years ago, yes. Plenty of time to reach space age technology (thank you, ancient derelict in orbit!) to take part in the founding of the Coalition and the Emperor's (there were a few, actually) Great Crusades during the first 5,000 years.
hmm...we arent talking about space ae though were talking about machines

If we were created to insure the construction of robots in the future, we should ban CF units. or at least give them the programming to save themselves.

Why? We were created to do it, but now we've got trillions of people (flesh and blood like us) we need to defend against who knows how many threats. As long as the enemies of the Coalition live, there can be no peace, you know.

Well, yes! Peace through Power. the only way. but if our job originally was to create more machines we must do something to get back on track. or we kill all enemies, THEN get back on track. IF that's our original purpose.

We can't let anyone know that the greatest empire of all time was founded to ensure some machines would be able to be made. Agreed. If they find out and start getting too inquisitive... well, we know what ill happen. but we must find out whether there are others created for the same purpose-I doubt they would leave their fate solely on us.

We shall not follow the path of others and leave a possibility for our weakness to be exploited. the problem with this is though, is that the People will ask questions and get uneasy with us bombarding the planet just like that. the same though, with the lock-down. but I still vote for bombardment. It's a lot more thorough.

That should be impossible. 1 million year old robots? They must have been made well. Going by the information in POAM 13, they must have been made near the VC's victory. The machine derelict in orbit of Thyrenda some 50,000 years ago contained extremely advanced technology. But as things got worse, perhaps technology was downgraded in a last ditch attempt at victory. Like the wooden planes Germany made when metal was running out in WWII...

To try and keep themselves existing-yes this makes sense. they built robots to be fairly primitive, yet so they'd exist for a long time. probably basic construction ones.

the further i venture the more automatons i encounter

they are starting to get more lively now as if some power source is still here

i encountered today also a sudden brush with death

there i was repairing one of em for answers when a crazed automaton came crashing through the pathway brandishing wat appeared to be a tree saw shouting "die VC dog!"

i managed to climb onto it and took out one of its nerve clusters sending it into a whirligig of destruction and then i fused 2 of its nerve adapters together to calm it down

it saw i was no threat and turned away while i carried on in my journey

before i left he muttered to me..."u r nearing the light zyyan...be wary of your actions"

and i carried on intrigued by this light

Hmm... How has an organic survived so long? Cloning bodies and moving his brain from one to the next? Cryogenic freezing? Or perhaps his cells lack the devices that make human cells stop dividing, the key to immortality (which can also cause cancer)..?

And if he's a master of robotics... He could be dangerous. The few organics who sided with the ancient machines in the war were very dangerous people, either dissillusioned with the "supremecy" of organic life, or something similar, wishing nothing but an end to the chaos, disorder, and conflict organics bring...

3 million years, eh? I take it your cells lack the devices that make human cells stop dividing. So you just keep on going and going and going until one day that device does activate, then your end is near. Must have a good way to fight cancer, then, as deformed cells would keep on dividing as well. Nanobots, I presume?

COP stands against persecution of it's own people. Machines aren't classified as people in the COP, so they have property codes, as seen in POAM 9, and maybe another. As for the origination of AI, that's one big mystery that originate before even the Zyyan. When the first sentient life reached into the sky, they found the machines already there. Only the ancient machines knew their origin, and until a survivor from before the war the Venus Collective started is found, it will remain a mystery. There is the possibility that the machines themselves forgot their origins, and came to beleive they were the sole inhabitants of the galaxy until creatures like the Zyyan emerged.

Maybe he sees them as metaphorical children... He did create some, after all.

Maybe he didn't have the ability to get himself a family. Maybe he had some mutation or something and was shunned by the others, so he created himself a machine family to fill the void of lonlieness (who wants to spend 3 million years alone?), and completely allied himself with the ancients. But then the VC started killing his adopted people and family, so... Yea. Angst.

The important thing though, is that we know it's not real. This is mostly afternoon boredom for me showing in my creativity. My laygeoz are upstairs, I don't want to go up there right now..

ORGANIC AND MACHINE ENITIES ARE INSUFFICIENT
TECHNORGANIC BEINGS ARE SUPERIOR

prove it...a technoorganic or cyborg usually have an electronic brain implanted...thus are bound to logic like a machine while organics have the critical factor which is the combination of life saving emotions and workings of the body that is fear, adrenaline, experience, stimulation and the will too survive

Pure technological beings can shut off emotions if they have them, thus ridding themselves of fear or anything else that could impair fighting ability or descision making. That's a good advantage, if you ask me.

well like i said they are bound to logic...and emotions come in handy since fear stimulates the adrenaline factor which means organics can go faster longer and harder while in technologies levels have been built in

Organics though run out of adrenaline that powers them. Pure technologicals, especially advanced ones like VF-S 1, can keep up rates of activity on par with an organic on adrenaline for 10x as long, if not longer, before power supply begins to run low.

thats where ur mistaken awe...depending on ur species...ur brain produces more and more adrenaline but its chemical energy that powers and stops organics if ran out which is the same as technologies which run on chemical energy stored in their batteries

Wouldn't an organic collapse of exhaustion after a while? They need to consume energy after all. Organics don't run on fusion reactors, you know.

I couldn't read the name. it was old language, as i've heard, Khal and Galvan has found something, maybe they can translate this when they're done. it's night coming soon, we're not going to have enough space in our little ship i took, I have 12 soldiers with me, Simon my Trusty Second in command.//End transmission//
Yay, Double post!
//Start transmission//

Our medics have scanned him and found a small parasitic being attatched to his spine. they have sedated him to surgically remove it, but it may be fused to him. His condition has deteriorated since being sent up.

maybe u should leave it there

It appears it has stuck some sort of mouth onto his spinal cord, it is working like a leech, except shutting down his nervous system. It has now been removed, and he appears to be stirring.

hmmm i wonder ... get the parasite ready i want too examine it!
