Ok this idea probably wont happen but the scientists of C.O.P-tropolis have discovered an unstable amount of energy in the crystals you can find in the rings of Colmas's brother planet Kolmas, where the front line used to be. They have placed the unstable machine where we fired it at an object. The energy blew the object up. They then tried it on several other objects and the same happend, although the bigger the oblect the less effect the energy has. The scientists then placed in the energy in a gun design. The design of the gun is you pull the trigger and the gun takes a bolt of energy and it fires out the barrel, and it work.
The only problem is the energy i used up rather quickly, so you have to reload after very 4-5 shots. Now scientists are trying to either experiment on the nergy to stretch it futher or make more of it fit in the gun some how, either way, we hope it works. If it does it may be another breakthrough to winning the war.
These were the designs for a possible lazer/energy cannon.

Well, sorta.
I like L.A.S.E.R.s myself; mix them with a good, long lasting power cell and a nice, fast thinking TacNet AI and they can shoot down incoming arty quite adequately.

actually, now that I think about it, star wars lasers are pretty much lasma guns. They use tabanna gas cartridges.

I don't think the COP uses guns that shoot out raw energy, and anyway, this isn;t really a prototype, I mean a prototype would be an entirely new weapon wouldn't it?
