I am writing (er, typing) a COP story. Ya. Please post your ideas, questions, ideas, suggestions, queries, ideas, opinions and ideas in this thread.

Much appreciated.

Could you maybe give some background on the story without spoilers? Otherwise any ideas I give will probably end up not used. Thanks for replying to my early comment.

The story I am typing is shows the point of view of at least 3 different people. An assassin, a lieutenant, probably some UNE guy. I haven't figured out a plot yet, but u would like the assassin to be hunting after Varion and his followers, with Awe's permission of course. My ideas are constantly changing so expect a lot of differences, but yeah. It is sort of a C.O.P's point of view of the current situation going on in the theme, so we've got rebelling machines and such.

Remember the old war story comics that heaps of people used to make? It's pretty much a more complex version of those, written in novel form, and incorporating (again with awe's permission) some COP view points of some events that effect them from the precipice/POAM series.

So do I have permission Awe? Any scenes that may involve Varion or machines I will refer to you first.

Precisely. We have a great potential here, one I'm guessing Ian and John never would have foreseen. It's not often things go from Brikwars to a legit fictional universe.

But until one of us is 18 (I sure hope that's the copyright age here), we gotta keep it low. We've got about 350 days until that happens, for me at least.

Let's here'em.

Ok.... I'll try and make this short.

I'm not sure you are aware of the fact that many prisoner barbarians and captured enemies of the coalition are not sent to a prison, or executed. Most are, in fact, sent to remote planets with no technology whatsoever, and the prisoners aren't permitted to take anything more advanced than basic clothing with them. They are dropped off on the planet, and left to do as they will. There is edible fruit and animals on the planet. The prisoners lead simplistic lives, or commit su1c1d3. What nobody knows however, is that once many of the planets were once used as battle grounds where organics fought machines when the machines once ruled the galaxy (see POAM 13). Of course, all these machines are buried deep beneath the ground after tens of thousands of years sediment, but if the captured people, condemned to live simple lives, were to discover this secret, they could eventually build and repair the ancient buildings and machines and could easily escape their planet.

One man, a stranger who used to build robotics for various empires, has built a little hut of logs on the edge of a steep ravine. One day a landslide occurs, destroying his home and taking away a large portion of the cliff. But sticking out of newly formed cliff side is an arm. An arm made of metal. He begins work immediately, excavating the ancient machine from the ravine. When he is done, he tries to repair the robot, but fail, due to lack of tools. He then decides to take off one of the machine's arms and use parts from the arm to repair the body. Eventually it works, and all he has to do is find a power source that will kickstart the robot back to life. He finds a way (not sure what it's gonna be yet, and of course, the robot comes back to life.

The organic and the one armed machine plot to escape their planet, they end up managing to attach themselves to the bottom of a coalition drop ship that was dropping off more prisoners. And so they escape.

At one point I would like the new machine, and perhaps the human who repaired him, to join Varion's rebel team. Just a thought.

This was just a basic outline of one tiny part of the novel I am writing, If you have any other cool ideas, please tell me, even if you don't think it is a very good idea, I would be very happy to hear them.

Message to the general population: One of the main purposes of the story is to give myself and others a theme to build their creations thereof. I've seen many COP MOCs that have random and nonsensical backstories (including my own) and I wish to eliminate that problem. When completed, feel free to expand on this theme, to create your own ideas in MOC form. Why would that be far-fetched? There were quite a few reds, though vastly outnumbered by blues and yellows. The reds also had a separate military branch by the end, combat damage wouldn't be far-fetched either. Most machine dead were stripped of useful parts and just thrown away by the VC, but some were just thrown away immediately after "death."

The only way the old machines could die was by destroying their minds, and if the VC only damage the mind instead of destroying it, the mind would last indefinitely. However, this does not account for natural erosion.

Email would be best, need to keep the element of surprise, ya know :P

What I think would be best, is that you send me your plot idea, and then I could give you ideas on what to add to it/what to change/ examples of dialogue, that sort of thing, because that way you're still getting your idea in, but myself (and Awe), are still shaping it to be something great.

If that's fine with you then fire the email away.

Ok, can you please send a blank email to banana.forge@yahoo.com.au, then I can email you what I've got so far. Be warned, I haven't formulated a proper plot yet, I have lots of ideas though, I just need to make them all relevant to each other.

Ok, it'll have to be a different machine. Is there any chance it can be an Aucter though? Obviously not the fallen one.

Nope. The Auctors were each hunted down and their Cities destroyed. Like good captains, they went down with their ships. Most died before the end of the war, and the two or one that survived was killed shortly after. There is very little remaining of the machine leadership. If any survived, it'd probably be lowly soldiers. There were 10 billion basic warrior units, and several thousand small combat craft. However, there were only 8 Auctors, and they were very high profile targets.

Hmm... Only lowly soldiers.... I'd rather have the robot Orino found to be a bit more important than that.... Couldn't one of the important machines have been killed, but their 'brain' survived and they were preserved in the rock?

Well, hmmm... Currently, I only have the quasi-Latin names for the machine ranks. If it's a red, the highest surviving class member would probably be a Iudexi (Iudex singular), who served as higher ranking judges. Not exactly a combat role, but one that would have found themselves forced into a position of leadership for the red's military arm.

There is probably at least one higher rank surviving, but because I'm wicked, I'm saving that for a story of my own.

Ok, after the prisoner stows away with the machine how about the duo plot to overthrow COP and rule over the galaxy. However, the machine is secretly planning on betraying the prisoner and reconstructing The God of All Machines and resuming the rule of machine. Ok, that's one idea. What do you think?

Sorry mah boi. If any sufficiently high ranked old machine came onto the Precipice scene, major plot would have to be reworked. Considering how I've written the plot up to the near-end of the series, I'd rather not do that.

Wouldn't work. The Emperor is the binding force of the COP, and he's practically unkillable in his uber fortress. And the God of All Machines can't be reconstructed, because it was something beyond just a machine. More on that later.

I like it, I see that you have learned a lot about the COP already, but this idea does not match current events. You'd have to read the entire POAM and precipice series to fully understand exactly what's going on, but basically there is a new god machine, and Varion and his followers are already plotting to take back control over the galaxy that was once theirs. And orino's machine plans on joining varion as soon as he escapes the planet. The prisoner just wants to get off the planet, and the machine decides to help the organic, a rare case of compassion.

But basically I like the way you're thinking.

While I wait, I am going to reveal more on my story.

As you know, there is a prisoner left on an old planet that turns out to be the battle ground of the old machines. Orino, the prisoner, who used to build robotics for various legions and empires, finds an ancient machine preserved in a cliff after a landslide occurred. With great effort, Orino manages to bring the machine back to life. The machine intends to leave the planet straight away, and decides to help Orino escape too....

Meanwhile, an assassin from a shadowous (bad spelling?) department believed to be secretly in league with the high ranking coalition officials, is hunting for a number of obscure targets. One of the targets is Varion.

two soldiers, sgt. Hunter and his senior officer, lieutenant *haven't-thought-of-a-name-yet* are caught up in the whole mess.

Then you are just the man I needed to talk to. I was wondering if my small empire (Federal Empire of Yukaz- F.E.Y.) could join COP. We would support COP not only with war machines, but also with soldiers. We would answer to the Emperor and fight to defend him. Also, I'll stay loyal to the storyline and not mess anything up. My only condition is that F.E.Y. is to be included in the history/story and that I at least help write about the parts concerning F.E.Y.

Well, if you want into the history, you should figure when and why you joined, and where your location in relation to the greater empire is. See this picture for astronomical reference:

Not even I know the history of the UNE.... I don't know much about the UNE, I just like grey and red.

On a planet called Earth, the terrifying possibility of a massive war was lingering. The constant threat of nuclear weapons frightened humanity to the brink of chaos and insanity. But Earth wasn’t the only one. The colonies stationed on the moon were also stopped dead cold by this freezing ‘almost’ war. The Moon by this time had been half colonized and has only just begun to be terraformed. Lunar warfare was, too, on the rise.
The world was ready.
If a nuclear missile was launched, it’d trigger a chain reaction, millions of rockets, enough to destroy the Earth 5 times over. What would this result to?

Canada, after receiving information about the sun’s closest neighbor, Alpha Centuari, from the Alpha Beta 9, the very first successful satellite to orbit another star other than our own (2179), secretly planned a manned mission to Beta-C. Beta-C is a small terrestrial planet orbiting Centauri-B, the smaller of the two stars in the A.C. System. While the rest of the world stubbornly pointed their missiles at each other, the Mercury Descender 6 was launched on February 24, 2181. The M-D.6 used a technique called ‘Planet Hopping’ (Using centripetal force from the closest planet to get catapulted to the next, and so on.) to get from the Earth to Pluto, then it’s Nuclear Pulse Fusion rockets kicked in and blasted it to the destination.
A year after the launch, Canada received a transmission. “We-Have-Landed!”

Prior to the global announcement of Canada’s manned mission to Alpha-Centauri, the Second Cold War (CW2 from Entry #1) forced nations to either get advanced enough to defend themselves or get conquered by another nation. But afterwards, many nations suddenly realize that constant fighting was no longer the answer and some even flooded over to the U.N. (United Nations). The race was on to get ahead in Aerospace Science, thus the period of time was named the ‘Second Space Race’, or SR2.
But of course the U.N. was the leader in Aerospace Science at the time, and the remaining nations -wanting to take the advantage of being in the U.N.- begged the U.N. to let them in. The U.N. continued to grow, and when it reached 86% they renamed themselves to the United Nations of Earth!
To top Canada’s AC Mission, some of the larger nations of the U.N.E. planned to create a science fleet designed to colonize Beta-C and send back information. This fleet would be named The 1st Science Fleet of the U.N.E. But, unfortunately, when the fleet was within Alpha-Centuari’s orbit it lost contact with Earth. Their last transmission said, “An unknown ship has been detected!”……

Not knowing what to do, the Alliance ignored the loss of their Science Fleet and ruled it an accident. Eventually, life went back to normal and the Alliance reached a golden age of peace and prosperity. Colonization was booming and the U.N.E. was expanding every day. Several sentient species were discovered and befriended. (May I remind you that all of this happened within 50 SEYs, or Standard Earth Years?) For a brief blink in time, life in the galaxy looked good for Humanity and its people. That was, of course, until that terrible day that started it all. The day of Jan. 4th, 2239…

It had been awhile since another species of sentient aliens had joined the Alliance. Recently, newly discovered species claimed to be part of a superior ‘coalition’. Nothing was thought of this ‘all powerful coalition’ but the worst luck in all of Earth’s history was about to hit.

It was an ordinary day on Really-New York, Sirius IV. (RNY, for short) Everything seemed fine until a large vessel of some sort randomly appeared in space, as if it had ‘warped’. It was much larger than anything previously recorded. Its speed was much greater than any of the Alliance’s ships. A transmission, apparently from the ship, was received at the outpost in RNY saying, “We are the Coalition of Planets. You have colonized on our territory. In the name of the Emperor, surrender your allegiance!” The people stationed on that outpost knew that, in this situation, they should’ve let Executive Leaders handle this, but they also knew what the decision would be. “We’ll keep our allegiance, thank you.” they replied.
The outpost was gone; destroyed within hours. A final, four-word message would be heard all around Sirius IV and all of the U.N.E. “We are at war.”

Ever since the first encounters of the C.O.P., the two factions have been at war with each other. The proceeding entries are accounts of what has happened since Jan. 4th, 2239.

Earth and the U.N.E. have survived several beatings from the C.O.P. A massive project was brought into existence that would ensure that even if all but Earth was captured, the U.N.E. would put up one last fight. The project would later be named the Planetary Defense System or PDR for short. The PDR consists of a giant orbital ring surrounding Earth filled with state of the art weaponry and whatever else might help defend Earth.

cupcakes actually

It is a little known fact that COPcakes actually have their roots in the UNE. Before contact with the UNE, the Coalition had never before heard of cupcakes; this type of food was completely alien to them! Upon the capture of a vessel early in the war, a UNE ship`s cook exchanged his services for his life and baffled the enemy crew with his cupcakes. This convenient, hand-help nutritional supplement was soon handed out to every Coalition soldier on the front lines. Replications of the original Earth recipe have been.... mediocre at best, but COPcakes have now been thoroughly ingrained in Coalition culture and UNE jokes.

I now this is off topic, I just thought I'd point something out to micro scale ship builders. I know I'm highly inexperienced when it comes to mini-ships, but you'll notice that with mine, I made the front section really bulky and the back section (with the bridge and engines) I made comparatively small. This gives the illusion that the ship is bigger than it really is, when viewed from the front, as the front sections is big, and the further away back section is smaller, and appears far away. I hope this helps someone.

I'd probably read it. though i don't think many people know of your FEY, and you'll have to do a LOT of research into the C.O.P theme so that you can make FEY fit in with the theme without being contrary to the C.O.P history.

also, if you're making a normal length novel with 300 pages and 500 words per page, your talking like 150,000 words, and I am pretty sure there is a limit to the length of MOCs on MOCpages. Also, if the story doesn't include any lego scenes, the page will be soon deleted, so you're better off posting your story into another website, maybe blog spot or something.

That's a good idea with the making a novel and a comic of the same thing. What I'm going to do is publish the whole novel then make Lego scenes of particular scenes from the book, and invite others to do the same.

Hey Awe, did you want to help with the book? Phaze thought you might want to help. Phaze has already helped with the prologue, which is now almost finished.

I'd rather not, I'm not worried about people plagiarizing my work, otherwise I wouldn't have let Phaze and Awe (i think) be my editors, but I would like people to anticipate the story, rather than just show everyone what I'm working on. However, I am pretty sure that I've decided to post each chapter separately, so you, and everyone else, will get to see each chapter once vie finished it. In fact, as soon as I've finished the prologue and figured out how to post my story on a website, I will post is, so that's probably before next week, so you won't have to wait long.

and then everyone in the display room all did the same thing as the other two (except John moffat who just looked baffled) and I escaped the room, and ended up in some passageway of sorts, and was confronted by a 8 foot tall machine with a blue eye, and then it brained me with a punch which I didn't feel because I woke up. Weird huh?

Sounds like something I'd pull off. Get all my friends to claim to be me, and then have the real me's brain put in a robot body which stands in the hall way to scare people.

I know how you feel man. I can only write mine because my workload has decreased a lot recently, and soon it's the Christmas/summer holidays in Australia, so I'll have even more time on my hands.

Ugh, I know exactly what you guys mean. Homework bites. I hope this weekend that I'll be able to write a little of my story, although I still have to research some COP stuff. Mostly my story will be about FEY so I don't have to research that much. Plus I have Awe as a reference :P

Eh, it appears someone's hacked my gmail account. I guess someone on the Internet h4tes me enough to spend hours upon hours trying to guess my password. Oh well, there was nothing really important on there, I'll just make a new one with a longer password. I'm saying this to tell you guys to delete danny1994morgan@gmail.com from your contacts, as whoever hacked my account may be n4sty to my contacts. I will create a new gmail account shortly.

You could tell the story from the point of view of a low class soldier, or similar.

I'm good at writing/typing. I write a series, indeed. I'm planning to translate it to english, as soon as I finish the four main parts.

If you doubt my skills, just see how many entries this blog have. Each one is a single episode: http://www.solarwars.blogspot.com/

Thanks, but I already have most of the plot figured out.

Not necessarily low ranking, the vast majority of new COP soldiers spend their time patrolling the interior or the safer frontiers. After that, they're sent towards Earth (obvious reasons) or to Thyrenda (last major planet before crossing into barbarian space), where they do actual fighting.

However, a low class soldier... That'd be interesting, I'd think. Exploring the social hierarchy of the COP.

Wow I must be physc1c or something, cuz in my story, one of the characters is officer cadet Hunter being promoted to lieutenant after he did showed his skills patrolling Tarsis and managing to catch a spy. After being promoted, he is put in command of a small platoon, and gets sent towards the fighting planets of U.N.E. Through warpspace. I just think it is a great coincidence that I thought of this before seeing your comment.

Ignore mace, I didn't steel any ideas lol. I started this thread and then everyone wanted to make a story. Then the whole thread turned into a new unlicensed talking thread, and has got the most comments than any other thread in the COP.. I think.

In my defense my story isn't really going to be about COP, it's just going to be set in the 23 Century. COP doesn't show up in my story until the end.
