So what do you guys think of a new name? (O.o)

Coalition of planets sounds legit, but 'COP' as an acronym sounds a bit weird, seeing as there is a word 'Cop' and it could get confusing.

i know this is a huge change, and the idea will probably be rejected, but here are a few of my suggestions.

btw I know we should put this past Ian first, and if we can agree on a new name, i think we should wait 3 months for Ian to check up on the COP, and if he doesnt... well... I guess Awe'll just have to change it himself.

Coalition of (insert name here) Planets. (for example, if we put the name 'Thyr [just an example] in there it would bet CTP)

feel free to leave your suggestions below, but if Awe(/ian) says the matter is mute, forget about it.

The Coalition of Tarsinian Planets?
A mouthful, kinda like the United Nations of Earth Alliance. For simplicity's sake, people will naturally take off the 'T' like they did the 'A' from UNEA.

Well, maybe the Liberals are for it, but as a Conservative, I'm hesitant. Not only because I'm not the greatest proponent of change, but it'd mean massive, massive retcons for everything. Like the Covenant having it's name changed to the Pact or something. It'd just be too much work. That, and I don't think Ian would approve.

I'mma have to veto such a change, but that doesn't mean we can't have other names. Like how Britain/United Kingdom/Great Britain/England/Scotland whatever has all those names.

Then POAM and Precipice are WAY down the line. Lt. John Hood was born in Seattle, USA, moved to a colony, colony was captured by the time he was a small child, and got into the COP military all before he was 23, at latest. Give it a little leeway, and that puts us somewhere around 2270. The rest of my established yet not published canon agrees the war's been going on for at least a generation. Conquering a whole planet takes at least a few years, not to mention, it takes more than a month to get from the COP to Earth space, let alone from deeper in the COP to Earth space.

My date gives us a ton of spare time for events to go down.

Do you have reason why the admins would allow you to have it here? It would just make sense to have it over there.

I'm sure Awe wants the group to be active too :P

I think it would be better here because that group was made for a different purpose, and all the people there probably would have to be personally informed of what the contest was now, it's just less complicated here I think. Llywelyn should have thought more about how he was going to judge and organize the contest. I think he's pretty much forgotten about the whole thing...

I don't know how we'll do it, I thought we were on the same timeline.

Quietly change? Nope. I'm as stubborn as Phaze when it comes to my canon. After all, I am COP canon-master, appointed by Ian himself.

Kronus campaign is a secret. And I've been figuring that billions left Earth right around 2200, so there are significant cities on other planets. But by far, the most are like New Caprica in BSG. A bunch of tents and some mud roads.

The COP conquered Earth space around the middle of the Ice Age, 30,000 years ago. During WWII, we weren't even close, the border had pulled back. In fact, when the mammoths were dying off, we weren't even close. As for the colony of Rome, yea, that's probably true.

Wow, that was quick!

I just spent a couple of hours working on a Frigate for round one of my Mocoff against Michael and Matt, and it's finished, I'm just adding details now. I'll probably post it tomorrow, but at least that's that round out of the way!

I'm already going to start work on the Civilian vehicle for round 2.

As for campaigns...
well, I made the Zodiac Campaign, which involved a rebellion of machines and humans alike, but I kinda gave up on that theme.

However, I might be starting a new campaign, right here on Mocpages. If all goes to plan, it will be in the form of a MOCIA, with a short comic for a prologue (this will probably be my entry for round 3 of the mocoff).

Yeah, would be cooler if you guys read it... But it's in PT-BR :/

What's that?

Pyrotechnical update:
Working on self propelled projectiles at the moment. I still think my potato canon is awesome, but it's a bit big and bulky, and difficult to transport. With my hopefully successful new self-propelled rocket, I will need only a small tube to launch it from. I have not made a warhead to go on the rocket (and probably never will), but the rocket itself is really cool and flies very far spewing flames and burning ash behind it. It uses compressed gunpowder with a tiny exit hole for the rocket engine, the slowly exploding gunpowder is forced through the tiny hole which propels it at great speeds.

It's probably more of a firework than a rocket, but whatever

And if you're worried about my safety, or think I'm completely su1c1d4l, I got the gunpowder from 24 sparklers stripped of their gunpowder, so that makes about 60 grams which isn't much. And the rocket has a fuse about 15 seconds long. And I don't hold the rocket launcher when firing, I stick it in the ground and run away...

I might make a new, never/rarely seen before type of comic. It would be kind of similar to an Illustrated novel. Instead of a picture for every 5/10 seconds of script, I will have picture showing features of the story, throughout the episodes: So for example the script might describe a heavy artillery tank, and a nearby picture will show an archive picture of the same type of tank on a firing range or during construction etc. I think it's an interesting idea, and it leave much of the story up to the reader's imagination...

Wouldn't work, not all the planets are Tarsin. The aliens would object to that one.

You underestimate the power it takes for such things. You're not generating the power for a little coilgun, you're generating an entire magnetic field. So unless you want to start carrying around a battery the size of a van, it's out of the question. Conventional armor works much better.

What does a medieval knight look like underneath the armor? Just a guy with some clothes. Nothing special there, unless the soldier if another race.

We don't discriminate by race, most of the time. Some species are just not built for combat, others don't have the mindset for team-coordination. The former are found other important tasks, while the latter often get jobs that involve lots of loner work.

All humans in the 23rd C theme are either from Earth, or Tarsis.

Tarsin humans make up 39% of the Coalition population.

The other 61% are aliens of various races (54%) and Earth born humans/mixed race parenthood (7%)

There are 48 planets in the Coalition of Planets.

Most planets conquered from the COPs enemies are harvested for their resources which are used to build up existing planets within the COP.

I need some more facts for the archives in my comic, so I'm going to start randomly making up fact, and maybe Awe could tell me which ones are not canon.

1: All humans in the 23rd C theme are either from Earth, or Tarsis.

2: Tarsin humans make up 39% of the Coalition population.

3: The other 61% are aliens of various races (54%) and Earth born humans/mixed race parenthood (7%)

4: There are 48 planets in the Coalition of Planets.

5: Most planets conquered from the COPs enemies are harvested for their resources which are used to build up existing planets within the COP.

I gave all your statements numbers for ease of answering.

1: All Humans originate on Tarsis or Earth, yes, true.

2: Probably around that number, if not a little less. There are are probably just as many Kstrk as there are Tarsins, if not more because of their even quicker reproduction. Kstrk just don't leave their home system often...

3: Almost all the remaining percent would be aliens, Earth Humans in the COP are only a few tens of millions right now. The main populations are beyond our reach. For now.

4: Probably more like 60, but I don;t know. We never really decided.

5: Most planets are left as they are, but usually the populations are moved around. The habitable worlds are then marked for future colonization. Because of the pasts of many COP member races, we're very environmentally aware, believe it or not. If the race in question if particularly dangerous, we nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Now wait a second, who said that technology had to look bad? Just because the modern world's development looks like horse excrement doesn't mean it's that way elsewhere. No, though they are warmer. Essentially the non-coastal cities have assimilated their surrounding country side, as well as building towering housing complexes. It's not a particularly bad place to live, on the outskirts of a city, just really bland. A lot of old farmland was replaced with housing when the orbital agricultural production facility was finally operational.

Those things you mention were all natural. The asteroid changed things forever, it didn't destroy it. Industrialization is artificial, and will also change things forever, whether you believe it or not.

Tech is getting cleaner up here in our nice fancy America, Canada, Britain, whatever. But India, China, Brazil, all those emerging places don't really have the money for that clean tech (well, maybe China does).

When you look at Earth from space, you see green, brown, and blue. Blue ain't gonna ever change, not unless we alter the chemical structures of the water somehow. Green can be changed into brown quickly. This isn't a static world, as you know, the Ice Age is still going as long as we have permanent icecaps, and the expansion of deserts has been ongoing for some time. Combine current ecological change with the wild card that is fast industrialization going ahead without thinking about consequences and you have an unpredictable result.

You guys play Nazi Zombies? Then you should understand what I'm saying:

I have made a purist minifig scale Lego monkey bomb.

I once turned an electronic toy monkey into something that resembled, or at least exploded like a monkey bomb.

The flame thrower I was talking about is actually a water gun.

A water gun with Pack-a-Punch.

Meaning it has a flaming stick attached to the end, and is filled with kerosene instead of water.

I have a video of it and will probably post it to the Internet if anyone requests it.

I don't have Black Ops, I just play Nazi Zombies a lot at my friends' houses.

I use my iPod for all my Internet surfing needs. The only exception is when I'm uploading pics.
