I wasn't able to upload Precipice today, as I had to write a report for Food & Health class before heading to the Christmas ball.

Speaking of the ball, it's the most fun I've had in a long time. Not exactly the traditional thing, as most of the dancing was in the host hotel's basement disco. I look good with a tux, sunglasses and a big dose of Party Hard, just FYI.

Oooh, no! There was something called 'Galidor' that came before. The year after they came out with Bionicle.

i dont know if this has an answer or not, but to our ships use grav lifts or some sort of beam transport...like from ship to ground?

No, the technology probably exists, but to get objects/troops from ship to ground we'd use drop pods (for in-combat behind enemy lines) and drop ships, and even the ship landing and lowering it's ramp, if the combat is not too heavy. For non combat we would also use drop ships and shuttles sometimes, but usually docking bays. The most common form of extraction is a shuttle/dropship that is sent to the ground to pick up cargo or stranded soldiers, and flys back up to the main ship where it enters the hanger bay and the section of floor it's landed on turns into an elevator, and takes the shuttle down to storage and the troops to safety.

The hangar bays themselves are usually not shielded, but are left open for friendly units to enter and exit with ease. You might think this would make it easy for enemies to go into the hangar and destroy all the crafts and have access to the rest of the ship, but the hangars are sealed off from the rest of the ship, and the hangar itself isn't really a hangar, but more of a launching ground, as I mentioned before, there are elevators built into the hangar floor that takes all craft to a safe storage facility and also take up all craft ready for deployment. Of course the hangar is filled with plenty of AI turrets to cause any enemy who makes it into the hangar a lot of pain. Overall we find this method far more efficient than an energy shield, so sometimes older technology trumps the new.

Oh, right, yeah.... Um..... Like I was saying, we don't use Grav lifts, to Halo-y...

I think I have ADD....

This ought to sum it up pretty much.
http://mocpages.com/moc.php/103061
Essentially a last ditch weapon when there is now hope in _ of getting out alive. A "We're taking you buggers with us" sort of device. Using all of the ships power, the missile streaks toward the enemy craft (it doesn't have to hit it), all the while collapsing a stream of hydrogen particles to the point of singularity. When that point is reached, a small black hole appears, consuming the enemy craft(s) and the blinking out of existence when it runs out of matter.

You did get second place. As for our style, maybe we should shake things up a bit. Maybe we can sleek our ships up a bit, but still keep the basic structure of block slopes. Imagine the contrast!

I'm trying to do just that with a new Devastator Class Destroyer (has that name been taken?), I'm trying to make it similar style to my D-class frigate, only flatter and with no gaps, and sleeker, though like you sad, still keeping COP style.

Congrats Matt btw, you're in the lead!

cool.

K guys, we got one week to build a civilian vehicle for round two of the MOC-off.

Note: Civilian vehicle = family, public, industrial, or emergency service vehicle, it is (obviously) not a military vehicle, or a police/security vehicle.

examples (me typing random ideas): Medevac VTOL, Family hover car, futuristic looking motorbike, 10 wheeled bus (?), cargo hover truck, etc.

You could attach a planet boring drill on one of those missiles and you've got a planet destroyer, or let it off next to a star...

It's not the size, it's the scale and what it looks like. There's 200 stud long "destroyers" and fifty stud long "dreadnoughts" out there, if you take the time to look.

Good point. I'll look around a bit to get a general sense of what seems good. Then when I post it, I'll classify it to what I think works, and then change it if people think otherwise.

Actually, the Star of Aor (SoA) isn't the biggest ship in the COP, but I think it's the biggest that anyones taken notice of and has correctly used COP style and color schemes.

My friend Llywelyn made a ship around 75 studs long for the COP called 'A-class Warship' but the color scheme is all wrong (red and dark bley, more UNE than COP) so nobody seems to think that counts. (no 0ff3nse intended here Llywelyn...)

No, bro, it's like this:

It goes Mata Nui, Metru Nui, Voya Nui, then Karda Nui (not to mention all the side islands), then you have an alt dimension comprised of Sphereus Magna and Bara Magna (Again, there are other small islands, but it's going from beginning to end).

So yeah, it's Bio-nerd for saying 'Beginning to the end'

They lost me after Metru Nui. I was like "NO YOU DIDN'T JUST MAKE ME MOVE AGAIN!" and then they go back to the original Toa (as in the Toa Nuva) and it was just flashback over, awkward silence, end of the series for me. I seriously loved the series. I have at least two copies of every single issue up until the switch to ignition and all that b s. I followed metru nui and even got into it, but then was totally disappointed when they don't get back to the main plot. If there is one thing any good story has is a group of main characters and doesn't keep switching them! All these new Toa and new villains were nothing next to the Toa Nuva. I would have kept them going through the rest of the plotline, they left too many holes in it and random start stop points. Anyway, that's my take on Bionicle.

Oh but is it a better ship? Last time we went off on a biggest ship competition, someone almost got their bridge rammed by a starfighter... Anyway, I don't plan to break that record anytime soon. I think we ought to focus on better ships than bigger ships. (also I has no parts for that)

I agree with you there, I think looking better is more important than being big, but if it's big as well as good, that's an added bonus. I've made a really sweet little COP ship, and it's only about 30 studs, but it's better than some of the bigger ships I've seen out there.

The standard Coalition troops looks like this:

But the most common solution to a lack of parts is to take a regular, white Clone Trooper and replace the head with a black one, covered by a regular motorcycle helmet.
