Ironic how the UNE now has all the activity, and not the Coalition as it once did.

Even 23rd Century, the combination of groups, is almost dead.

If you looked up less than an inch, or probably less than a centimeter if you're using a smartphone, you would notice that when you replied to his comment his name is John Moffatt.

All derp-heads aside...

Gentlemen, it is on this truly honorable occasion, that I present the 23,000th comment of the Coalition of Planets. 23 is the most iconic number of this theme, far more impressive when it has 3 0s after it. I know of no other group on MOCpages with this number of comments. I am honored to be a member, let alone an administrator of such a great, if not once-great group.

Let us have a minute of silence for just how far this theme has come since it's official birth some 40 months ago.

23 Enigma, anyone?

Huzzah! Long live the Emperor, that he might lead us through another glorious 23,000! This is a time of much rejoicing, and therefor a celebration is in requirement.

When Gus became inactive and when Danny created the 23CU group.

By the way, has releasing Gus and Oucho been considered? It's a little awkward having five administrators, when only two are active in this group and another two aren't active at all.

Well I see no reason for them to be admins, but I've only been an admin myself for about 6 months, so I don't want to go around changing everything. I think it should be Awe's or Ian's job. But I also think we've got too many useless mods. I personally think they should be purged, and the positions of mod-ship be offered to those members who have actually earnt it, but again I don't wanna barge around changing everything...

Quoting Delta Kevin 22 23 Enigma...
It's this apophenia that states that everything is either directly or indirectly related to the number 23.

An example is this sentence. It has 23 characters.
If you spell out "23," in that previous sentence, it also has 23 letters.
2 divided by 3, rounded to the third place behind the decimal, is .666, the mark of the beast. 0_o

Longest lived group-theme on MOCpages?

To my knowledge, yes. I think Coalition of Planets might just be the largest (conversation wise) group on this entire website, which is saying something seeing as there are tens of thousands of groups here. I could be wrong, but I've never heard of or known of any group with more than 15,000 comments (except the UNE), let alone 23,000.

I just thoroughly read over the newly edited 23CU website, and it looks awesome, but there seems to be one loose end that doesn't add up. The UNE are all very serious and dramatic when they encountered the Coalition, humans not from Earth, and that's all fine, but earlier on it said the UNE encountered a Tri-Planet-Coalition outpost on their first mission, and yet that's brushed off as being no more unusual than seeing a green leaf in winter or something...

So the TPC are a "rogue" group that used to be part of the COP, but left and formed their own small Coalition, correct? Well if you're interested in hearing my suggestion, I personally think that the UNE should not encounter the TPC until a decade or half a decade after encountering the COP, because the TPC noticed (somehow) the Coalition's mobilization against the UNE. Being against the Coalition, and fearing that they would inevitably get caught in the Coalition's purge of this sector of the galaxy, the TPC contacted the UNE and proposed an alliance against the Coalition. After the UNE obviously accepted, the TPC and the UNE shared technology with eachother, and the UNE also learnt some valuable information about the COP from their new TPC friends. By about the 2280s, the TPC technology seemed to be a perfect mix between UNE and old COP hardware (which appears to be the criteria for TPC Lego builds).

Don't you UNE/TPC guys think this works well? Remember only a suggestion, not demanding anything.

Quoting Danny Morgan TPC idea
I do like that idea. It would kind of help us a little with the tech gap.

It would require a complete re-write of the Tri-Planet Coalition, though. I mean, the Tri-Planet Coalition refers to the three planets of Centuari. We could theoretically change it to a different three planets, within Coalition Territory.
That's beyond my decision, though. Only Ultra and Aidan or John can make that official.

We could place them in D-1. Also, perhaps we should also make an updated map. The current would still apply; the new one would be for later in time.

Well either John/Ultra/Aidan could do that, AWE you could change the destination of the UNE's first mission entirely (blasphemy I know) :3

Dude, if you do change the TPC backstory, you'll [cupcake] (or do we say COPcake here) over A) My whole understanding of the UNE canon. B) My story plot...again and C) the current up to date starmap.

I thought that Centauri was just an outpost anyway, not the home system of the TPC...

My whole UNE beginning story (which has slowed production dramaticallly but is still ongoing), and my story set before Earth's Misunderstanding literally DEPEND on encountering the TPC before the Coalition.

I was thinking that the other main subfaction ally of the UNE, the Alcodin Empire, which is also our bakcsotry for Grav-Missiles, already had the veyr backstory you just proposed anyway.

If the 23rd Century Universe were ever to become a legitimate publicly released theme (video game, book series, movie, Lego sets, etc. Etc.) then it makes far more sense in my eyes (and I think Matt's too) if the Coalition encounter was the UNE's first and cinematically dramatic experience of extra terrestrial human life, and that the TPC contact the UNE later on after the COP and UNE go to war. I'm sorry if it messes with your "story", but you've got to look at this in the bigger picture.

Also, no idea what this Alcodian Empire is, but it was made fairly certain that the TPC is the ONLY sub-faction / third party faction in the 23rd Century.

Look at Other Factions on wetpaint. Supposedly, we learned Grav-missiles form them.

:(. I guess. Still, if this becomes official, my UNE beginnings story is [COPcake]d over for good. You see, pretty much all the action in the story is the opening conflict with the TPC, before the misunderstanding is resolved and peace is made.

If it must be done though, it must be done. If this goes through, I'd like to suggest a date of contact of about 2241, 2 years into the UNE-COP War, it fits well into my other story.

Even a Tarsin race that hasn't even gone rogue yet?

Then again, we could make a tragic story were a race of Coalition aliens end up being pushed from their home world due to their "treason." it would seem pretty interesting.

Well, you made a reboot last year that was superbly written and then never did anything with it. You also mentioned your plans to turn it into a book anyway; why not continue, while altering the story to fit the conflict against the UNE?

I do have my own comic planned, in fact it's close to being posted, I just need to photograph the last few scenes and write the dialogue and such. It ties in with PoaM a little bit, too. Unfortunately that alone cannot get this group on their feet, since I am not as well known as you.
