Three rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne,
In the Land of Mordor, where the shadows lie,
One ring to rule them all,
One ring to find them.
One ring to bring them all,
And in the darkness bind them.
In the Land of Mordor,
Where the shadows lie.

"REEEEEAAAAACH!"

Halo has nothing to do with LOTR... anyhow my favorite is "War is upon us weather you will it or not!" by Arargon in Theodens throne room. or Sam "I may not be able to carry your b burden, but i can carry you!" i think thats right =)

AYFKM? In the last movie Sam says "Come on Frodo Reeeeaaach!"

Yeah! It's only from the film, but still...
My favorite quotes (Films and movies) are so numerous it would take far too long to amass them all.

But a favorite of mine, and one that I find especially touching, is one that Boromir says moments before he died.
"I would have followed you, my brother, my captain, my king." Disappointingly, that line was not written by Tolkien, but I always imagined that it could very-well have been what Boromir was thinking as he died, and it fit quite well into the film.
Another favorite quote of mine is something Bilbo Baggins would say: "Bilbo Baggins: It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to." I haven't read the books in far too long, and plan to do so soon, so I don't remember if that line was in the books. (But I think it was.)

What do you think of Smeagol? To me, he has a good and helpful side and bad and malice-filled side. He's kinda like dobby from the Harry Potter series. 'Cept for dobby's worst side is clumsy, not hatred.

You're right, Caleb! I read the book a month ago and remember very well that a line like this is in the books! The fun of this line is that Bilbo spoke out of his own experience.(for everyone who doesn't know the Hobbit)

Simbelmynë. Ever has it grown on the
tombs of my forebearers. [Looks at Gandalf] Now it shall cover the grave of my son.Alas, that these evil days should be mine. The young perish and the old linger. That I should live to see the last days of my house.

Your fingers would remember their old
strength better... if they grasped your sword.

I wonder if people will ever say, ‘let’s hear about Frodo and the Ring.’ And they’ll say ‘yes, that’s one of my favorite stories. Frodo was really courageous, wasn’t he, dad.’ ‘Yes, my boy, the most famousest of hobbits. And that’s saying alot.’

That was a funny line because in the beginning when they are at Bag End, Gloin says something about Oin 'reading the signs' and then Oin he saw ravens returning. If he mistook that thrush for a raven.....It puts doubts into my mind as to whether Oin is the right person to be 'reading the signs' :P

Ori died in the dwarves' very last battle in the chamber of Marzarbul. When he died he still had the book in his hands, so he is the dead dwarf at Balin's tomb from the Fellowship of the Ring. Gimli also said that it was Ori's handwriting in the book.

Rumors have begun to spread. The dragon Smaug has not been seen for sixty years. Eyes look East to the mountain, assessing, wondering, weighing the risk. Perhaps the vast wealth of our people now lies unprotected. Do we sit back while others claim what is rightfully ours? Or do we seize this chance to take back Erebor?
