Finish The Quote
Join to comment
This is a game. The game is very similar to the 'Name the quote game.
This one is finish the quote.
I say a quote except for one word. You try to guess it. Then try to guess who says it. The first person to guess it correctly gets to do another quote. And so one.

Keep the quote form the movie. LOTR only. No silmarillion or hobbit until the movie comes out.

So try to guess the quote and who says it.

Here is the first quote.

"We saved some for you mister ____"

Have fun!

I am a something that lives in Mirkwood(well on top i mean) me and my family and friends are seen by a hobbit, what are we? (Sorry if the description is hard to make out.)

I don't think this counts, since it's a game
where you have to finish quotes,
not a character-guessing game unless I have
missed something...

So here's my quote someone has to finish then:

"We haven't had anything but ___ bread for three stinkin' days!"

I see we are a great mix of Tolkien fans in this group!

There are

1) people who have watched the movies, but never read the books
2) people who read the books, but never watched the movies
3) people who know both:
a: People who first saw the movies and then read the books
b: People who first read the books and then saw the movies.
4) People from 2) and 3) who have also read the Silmarillion, The HOBBIT, Adventures of Tom Bombadil, Unfinished tales and Children of Hurin (or at least some of them)

Now I'm interested in which type of LOTR fans each of you are...

Going on that list I am number four, I have read LOTR before I saw the movies, and I read the hobbit, I have also read part of the Adventures of Tom Bombadil, Part of the Silmarillion, Smith of Wooten Major, and more of his shorter stories.

I am number 4). I read the HOBBIT 10 years ago and 12 years ago, when I started to learn reading, I read LOTR (of course not alone. My father read most chapters aloud). I also know most of the oficial LOTR adaptions. The HOBBIT is the book I read most in my life by the way.

I'm the same as you, except I watched the movies when I was around 6 years old, and read the books a few years back, and I've read a few of the other books too. Has anyone ever read "Letters From Father Christmas" by Tolkien? It's a great collection of Christmas letters from Tolkien to his kids. You guys should read it!
