The Fellowship of the Brick: 1000th Member Celebration
Join to comment
 Group admin
As you all know, it won't take very long until this group reachs 1000 members. Our idea was to make a 1000 members celebration that can include:

- a contest
- a reward for the 1000th member
- Celebration MOCs about/for/with link to "The Fellowship of the Brick" (content of it is up to the participant)
- a new group image ("Click here to join us")
- rewards and gifts for other members who made this group to what it is now.

This huge project will only work, if we all work together, so please tell us what you think. Suggestions, ideas, advice, prototypes for the contest planning etc. are very welcome.

Thank you, members of The Fellowship of the Brick, thanks so much, for 3 wonderful years of MOCs and membership. It is an honor to be part of this great community. Thanks again!

I am a fan of all the idea's except the reward for the 1000th member. That just seems unfair that a random person would get a prize just because he happens to be the 1000th member. I would like to thank you, the other admins, the mods, and all the active members for making this by far the best LotR group on Mocpages! To the Fellowship of the Brick! *clink*

Michael, i dont know if you remember making this group with me but the first thing we said was "lets hope this group dosent fail like our last attempt" and wow look at us now, 1000+ members!!!

I think a contest would be a great idea. HOwever i agree with sme of the others that a reward for the 1000th member isnt the best idea because it just dosent seem fair. And what new picture were you considering? Another group effort or something else?

Cheers!!! And lets continue to make this group GREAT!!!

Hi Everyone! I was at camp with Aidan for the weekend so I didn't get to see mush of what happened.

Michael, I think we might need to have another MOD election before we make a new picture just to make sure we have all active MODs who will be represented.

I would make it and edit it with photoshop. Then I will try how a group picture with many LOTR siggys works best, or if we better only add the siggys of all admins and mods. However, we can't make a photo with 40- 1,042 members, so we have to decide who to choose and who to leave out and perhaps make the admins' and mods' siggys bigger.

There's no way we can fit 1042 Buddy Icons in a picture what's not that big. So maybe we should just put the active members sig-figs on?

True, if you look through the comments, only about 20-30 people comment daily. Sorry I have been a bit inactive lately, I've been working around the house. (e.g. putting in sod in dead spots in the back yard, helping mom with a garden path, ect., ect.)

I don't think that that is entirely fair, seeing as some people are just as helpful and active as the admins and mods, such as David, Monsterlego, (is he a mod?), A.N.C. Hunt, and loads of other people, so it would be unfair not to include some of the people who helped make this group what it is now. Savvy?

Great Idea! And about the "click to join us picture". Might I suggest a Ringwraith? They look so epic!

I think you'd have to wait until the MocOlympics are over as lots of the members are in it.

Very good proposal, that will be the plan, Michael willing.

It was bland, but filling.

As Sam said, the lembas is quite filling as well, (of course you have to have more than a small bite though)

What recipe do you use for it (and Lembas)?

When are they over?

And yes, perhaps we should first start with the sig fig project.

They do not actually END until mid December. But most of the rounds are over by early November or so, maybe we should do it right when the Hobbit comes out.

They are very close recipes.

Lembas has (I do not know the measurements, when I get home I can put the full recipe on here):

Flour
Lemon Juice
Honey
Salt
and Water.

The cram is all of the without the Lemon Juice or Honey.

How about you make a different topic for all this, Lembas, and Cram stuff, instead of cluttering up this one???

Thank you!

We should make them on December 13th and then eat it in the theatres, when the HOBBIT is out.. That would be awesome!
