Any plans for going to see The Hobbit? Talk about it here!

I'll be going to the advance premiere on the day before it comes out, dressed up (obviously) as Gloin!

What are your plans?

People here usually never dress themselves when they go to the theatres, but me and my friends will make an exception for this very special movie...

Of course I will make lembas and eat it there and I will dress up as one of the younger dwarves or Balin. I will also prepare myself for the movie as good as I can. (watch the LOTR trilogy again, play the hobbit video game, etc) :D

The language is simple, so that people of all ages can understand it and it has lots of great photos in it. there is a map of Middle Earth, detailed character descriptions of all 13 dwarves and all the other races and people that appear in the first movie.

Most of my Bofur costume is done, but I still need essential parts. I got some fake princes hair from the dollar store and we are going to finish his mustache and braids, and my hair is long enough for his bangs. We also need some fur, (Anyone got a place where I can get that?) For his boots, and Then I just need his jacket/gloves.

Shame is one of man's greatest failings. It's not as though anyone will make fun of you anyway; everyone going to see The Hobbit is a fan. I'm haven't shaved since Thanksgiving so I have somewhat of Dwarven appearance but aside from that I'm not going in costume. How funny would it be to dress up as Harry Potter or a Narnia character? lol

Hmmm... the easiest dwarves are probably Bofur, Kili, Bombur (with a bunch of pillows :D) and then you could do Bilbo with a couple thrift store stops, or you could go as an orc with some old clothes, pointy ears, facepaint, and a bit of armor. Those are all I can think of that are simple at the moment.

Thanks for the ideas. I think it would be fun to go as Bofur! :D

I think the hardest part will be making the leathery armour he wears. For the beard, I thought I might pick up some fake beard wool, or something along those lines.

Aye, Dain I am! I've watched the extended Fellowship twice this week (oddly enough both times I watched disc 2 and THEN disc 1) and the Rankin Bass Hobbit Cartoon both matched with Zeppelin's "Led Zeppelin III" and with the regular sound. I can't wait for the Hobbit!

I can see all your new icons, guys! There are Dwalin, Dain(?), Kili and Fili, Gloin, Gandalf, Bombur and Bofur. Great ideas! Can you see my Balin icon too?

I can! It's pretty cool/surreal seeing all of the Dwarves (and Gandalf) as everyone's icons.

Agreeed. And he was not Jar-Jar-like at all. He looked like a man who loves nature more than everything else.

we'll probably see more of him, in which I hope they expand on him, and make him a bit more serious, yet still a bit funny.

I thought Radagast was silly and his actions in the film slowed it down and were pointless. The rabbit sleigh was ridiculous.
