Hey guys! For Christmas this year, I'm sure a lot of us want some Lord of the Rings sets or some of the new Hobbit sets that just came out not too long ago! Share your list here!

These are sets I want most too! But they both would be to expensive for my parents. I can get Weathertop or Riddles of the Ring + Mirkwood spiders. What would you choose?

My favorite would be the Attack on Weathertop to get for Christmas for the Lord of the Rings sets. I like the characters and the rock dwelling. I also would like the barrel escape from the new Hobbit line. That's if I can only get one from each line.

Besides, I would want some LOTR characters so that I could put up some LOTR MOCs! Right now (unfortunately) I don't have any LOTR sets.

My list:

- An Unexpected Gathering and one of the other HOBBIT sets
- Hobbit Callendar (I already have the big one, but I usually buy both, the bigger and the smaller one.
- a new bow
- the HOBBIT sounddrack
- more merchandising products from the HOBBIT
- some music cds T-shirts and books.

I would want the Mirkwood Spiders, Shelob Attacks, Uruk-hai Army, and attack of the Wargs. I would also want the polybags. That way, I could build some LOTR/Hobbit MOC's!

I'm hoping to save up my money for a new bow, as my other one is 5-6 years old, and the fibreglass shaft is starting to shatter, and the string is frayed. What kind of bow do you prefer? I like compound bows, but I like to stick with good 'ol recurves... As for lego sets, I am hoping for Barrel Escape, as well as Mirkwood Spiders, and maybe some Avengers or CITY Lego too, as I'd like to start building some modern-day MOCs.

You love bows too? That's awesome!!
My favorite bows are recurve bows, but I will see and look what else I can find. Maybe a special LOTR bow or a mongolian bow. They are said to be very good.

My old bow is also a recurve bow, but it's old and breakable now. Not relyable and too dangorous.

Caleb, if you want my advice, I say avoid Compound bows. I do not like them at all. I have a longbow and a recurve bow, and I love them both. If you want something new you might try asking for a longbow.

Sweet! Another archery lover!!! Yeah, my older brother likes to fiddle with mine, and make weird adjustments to it, plus he over uses it WAY too much, so I'm hoping to save up money for a nice recurve. Do you hunt?

Compound bows are nice at punching a hole in something but require a lot of pull and even more maintenance. I have a green fiberglass longbow that packs a lot of power into a simple design and still has an easy pull. I'm not very good left handed yet (I'm left eye dominant and am a dead-eye with a rifle) but I still shoot alright right handed. My friend Matt is way better than me, though; I joke that he's an Elf and I'm a Dwarf and that's why lol. I'm pretty good at throwing hatchets, too.

I like the sound of the Mongolian bow. From what I've seen on Deadliest Warrior, the recurved shortbow packs the most punch for it's size and is very maneuverable as it was made to shoot from horseback.

I'm learning how to throw large axes two handed and am practicing at throwing two hatchets at once as I want to be directly involved in choreographing the fight scenes and the Dwarven fighting style in my first movie (which may take years or even decades to get someone to fund it).

No, I don't hunt with the bow. Killing animals is not my taste of sports. I do like martial arts though and am good in Iaido, Japanese sword art and I like throwing stars.

We have a long bow at home too, but I prefer the recurve, because the long bow is fast and powerful, but it requires a lot of strenght to handle him. The recurve bow is very precise and I would choose it for a real battle, because you won't get exhausted that fast.

I don't hunt either. Taking the lives of other living creatures for my entertainment disgusts me.

I agree about the recurve, they are very dependable, and have a good draw power, and very accurate. BTW, when I was at Scout Camp a few years ago, the targets we had for archery, were boxes with teletubbies painted on them! :P

I don't hunt but I'm not against it. Most if not all hunters - any that I've met - do hunt for sport but they use the whole deer; venison is delicious, by the way. I just shoot for fun but I do own camouflage; I like animal watching and am still a pretty good woodsman though I was far stealthier as a kid. I've sneaked within ten feet of a doe in the winter with my Realtree APS and I've had a flock of about twenty turkeys come within fifteen feet of me with my regular AP.

I agree about taking a life; that's why I don't actually hunt. Even when I fish - which is my favorite past time - I rarely keep and cook any though I did cook a mess of trout last month.

I do hunt but it is not strictly just for entertainment. My family hunts as a source of food. I am not saying I love to kills animals just for fun. But I do have a good time being out in the wilderness. I love to hunt and most times it is even better when you don't see or shoot at anything. I do respect your opinion though.

I am glad there are some minds like to mine here. Aidan and I argue about this all the time, he hunts and I do not like it one bit. I would never hunt unless it were for my own survival.

Michael, I agree with you regarding the bows, I prefer recurves, but I will say my long-bow is fun to use.

I completely agree! It's good to see someone that's not an animal rights activist... it's a family tradition, one of the oldest methods of getting food, plus it is fun. Not because of the killing, neccessarilly, but because of the challenge, and because of being in the woods. I didn't get an elk this year (no snide comments Mark) but I had an awesome time! It was a great hunt, with great people.

What? Are you implying that I would say something such as "Thank Goodness!" or "Alleluia!" How could you think that? XD

That, I respect. Hunting is natural for survival, all the way back to Neanderthals. It is the natural way of life. Hunting for PLEASURE, is what I despise.

I always thought you would go hunting with Aidan and your other friends, but now I'm very glad that we share the same opinion about hunting.

I can't hurt anything that lives when I'm not in danger, not even a spider (well, except from maybe Shelob). Something deep inside me automatically stops, when I get the opportunity to hurt somebody.

For Aidan I think it's normal, because he grew up with it and since it's an old family tradition, nobody really has doubts.
Another reason is that to most animals you don't feel an as strong connection as to the intelligent ones, like dogs or ravens, with which I live together. I worked on a farm for a few weeks, but I didn't feel a very strong connection to the sheep, so I guess it's easier to kill less intelligent herbivors, because they are more different from us than other creatures.

I'm not going to buy the Wii U for a few years, probably. They just came out with Skyward Sword so they shouldn't have a new Zelda game for at least two years (which bugs me as the tech demo was BEAUTIFUL and every Zelda fan loved the look and feel of Twilight Princess - the fan-made Majora's Mask remake trailer looked even better! Why, Nintendo; WHY?!) and no other games are really my style.

Go with Legos as they are timeless and multi-purpose.

I agree; Skyward was really great. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was but there's so much to do and I just love flying around the skies and finding different islands to land on; it brought back that feeling that Wind Waker had. My favorite is still Ocarina or Majora's Mask; I can't decide.

Great! Two people who like Zelda games! Ocarina of Time had the best story and characters, but I did like the dungeons in Skyward Sword, they had great obstacles! I also really like how it started the Zelda Universe and how the story of the other games unfold! There is a game on the Wii U and it has 4-player Link battles. I'm glad to see other Zelda fans!

I still have my N64, too. I sold a lot of my games a few years back but I still have Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask; I could never sell those games.

Ocarina was the best for the realm, characters, and storyline but Majora's Mask has the best temples and sidequests. I really can't pick which I like better though. Whenever I hear the title screen music for either one I say "this one's my favorite" lol.
