Greetings! Seeing as the new Hobbit movie is fast approaching, most of the hard-core fans (myself included) will be fantasizing over what we will be wearing to the opening of "The Desolation of Smaug".

I personally, may be going as Kili, or possibly decked out as The Necromancer, or a Nazgul.

Anyone else know what they might wear? I can't wait!!!

I'm not very into costumes, but if I where to dress up as someone it would probably be Dwalin, so could have an excuse to wear a Bald cap.

I think it would be neat to go as Bifur too, he has a really cool spear which would be fun to make!

And don't forget the axe in his head. That would be difficult, but it would look awesome!

Haha, I forgot about the axe stuck in his head! Dwalin's axes would be neat to make too!

Some years back I made a Nazgul costume, and I've worn it for Halloween every year since. I'm past the point where it's even possible that I could outgrow it. I most likely won't be going to the DoS premiere, but maybe for the last one...but even then, I don't think I'd be comfortable in the theater for 3 hours!

Think I might try to whip up a Gandalf costume real quick. If I could grow a beard I would do Kili though....but I can't...

Ok, so I have a big list of people.

I will be Legolas

Matthew will be going as Smaug

Aidan is Bard

Ruth is an elf (basically Tauriel)

We also have:
Fili, Kili, Radagast, Balin, Dwalin, Bilbo, Bard's daughter, and another Hobbit.

How will Matthew make the Smaug costume? That will be a hard piece of work.

Well he is technically going as Benedict Cumberbatch, so he is dressing in a trench coat, scarf, and is going to have a smaug mask.

I've changed my mind: I'm going as Frodo, or possibly Sam, or maybe Bilbo. One of them anyway...

Still have done no work on a Gandalf costume.....I thought about picking up some clothes from thrift stores and putting together a Bilbo costume but I'm too tall for that...

Cool!

Sadly we won't go dressed up in the theatres, because we didn't have any time to create the costumes, since school stole a lot of time this year. I will wear my Hobbit shirt though!

Topic revive! This year I'm going to get an early start on a costume, so I don't have to wing it at the last minute. Perhaps I'll go as a Nazgul? Or maybe Radagast? Gaah, so many choices!!! :P

There are a lot of them. This year I will be Thranduil, Matthew will be Bard, Aidan will be Beorn, we will still have a Fili, Kili, and Bilbo, and will we also have a Thorin.

It was scary... But cool! The guy's head was in the chest of the costume, so the Nazgul looked about 7 feet tall, and he had no face!

I saw that guy! I thought it was weird there was a Wraith at a LEGO convention but hey, it was a cool costume! One of my friends did a Nazgul costume for halloween a couple years ago. I'm going to be making a Gandalf costume.

I'm planning on going as an ordinary human from the 21st century.... ;)Seriously though, I don't really like to dress up. It's not my thing, but it is cool to see what some people come up with!

My favorite moment last year was when our troop of geeks strolled into a pizza parlour before the movie, dressed up as middle-earthians. All the people working in the kitchen kept popping their heads out and doing double takes when they saw us :P It was quite funny!
