Soylent Green, Time Machine, Forbidden Planet, and 2001, A Space Odyssey is already in the movie queue. I'm catching up on all these sci fi stuff. It somehow passed me by growing up. I find it sad I'm learning more about Star Wars via MOCpages rather than the actual movies... XD Permalink | December 14, 2009, 4:34 pm |

Worthy of checking; old sci-fi movies like When Worlds collide, The War of the Worlds, Them, The Blob, It came from outer space, ...where do I stop? But the Guide is a good start. And you haven't seen 2001? Man, you're gonna have a trip! Permalink | December 14, 2009, 4:40 pm |

Nevermind I re-read it, I will go for something like the restraunt! or maybe explore the world of bistro-mathematics!

Argh! Bad timing for me, Gio! I'm busy with my AG MOCs, and I hoped to start building my next gigantic mech, because I wanted to post it for my 1st anniversary.
I'll follow the contest gladly, though, since I love the Guide :) Permalink | December 14, 2009, 9:00 pm |

Wow, this I will enjoy. I only last read the books this summer, and I've already forgotten a lot of the books. The storyline I'm alright at, but that's because THGTTG has the most incomprehensible storyline ever conceived by the human race. Guess I'll be reading the series once again over the winter break... After I finish my latest Pratchett book, naturally. Permalink | December 15, 2009, 2:05 am |

Well, of course I've read the books, my friend. And I was an instant fan. But it had some difficult words in it: English is not my native language. And it's been quite a while, so once again: please be specific on wich part you make an MOC about. The universe is a big, huge, enormous, gigantic,...well...big place!

Just an interesting fact you people might want to know. There's isn't a single MOC related to THGTTG on MOCpages! (I've been browsing like forever.) So who ever posts first IS the first. Make it a memorable one! Permalink | December 15, 2009, 11:32 am |

Hey Gio, I can't remember exactly where I saw it, but there IS actually a Hitchhikers moc here on mocpages. It was the scene where they're getting hit in the face with shovels done as a vig... wish I could remember where it was... but it's here somewhere.
Of course it has nothing to do with the contest but... just thought I'd throw it out there. Permalink | December 20, 2009, 9:11 pm |

Either people have forgotten the contest or just waiting to post last and crush the competition ... Oh right, I need to get building before the deadline! XD
Since the Heart of Gold in the movie looks nothing like a sleek running shoe, I'm opting to build a "loose" interpretation of the infamous ship based on the audio book I listened to. Now If I could just stop the kids from stealing white-colored bricks... Permalink | February 9, 2010, 12:35 pm |

Yup, I'm going for the shoe! I saw Nathan Proudlove's shoe and thought I could do something like that:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=85288
Proudlove literally went for a shoe with a Nike logo. I thought that killed essence of the ship. But who cares about my opinion.
Mine would be nothing this big since I only have a limited supply of parts. Factor in that the kids taking bricks from my stash. Then I'm down to no bricks. XD Permalink | February 9, 2010, 12:51 pm |
