Sets that The LEGO Group should make (eg. Star Wars)

I think LEGO should make an Indiana Jones set based on the opening of the Last Crusade, with Young Indy etc. Has anyone got any more ideas of new sets that LEGO should make (not just Indiana Jones)?

Also new theme ideas, post here!

That'd be awesome? Are you thinking like in the cave at the very very beginning, or on the train, 'cause a set based on the train would be killer!

The train. It could be like an Indy / Train set, with RC tracks and remote etc. It could also come with a horse and car (and loadsa snakes!).

All societies have their cruel elements. The Romans also gave a lot to the world. I doubt LEGO bases their themes on how nice or cruel a society was; the Middle Ages were brutal for example. On another note, WW2 LEGOS would be great, as would Napoleonic War themed sets. Or ancient civilizations such as Greek, Roman, New Egyptian sets, Aztec, Inca, or Mayan. The historical possibilities are endless.

Right, lego Aztec: Aztec sun temple with removable top for play! Enemy-flaying action! Realistic dungeon! Children can play with the high priest as he cuts a helpless prisoner's heart out to make the sun rise!

Anything wrong with that, you think?

How'sabout lego Vietnam: retractable play punji sticks! Historically accurate burp gun! Russian advisors! Awesome F4 VS MIG-17 dogfighting action! Tow the captured enemy behind the M113 until his arms fall off!

Or maybe lego WWII, as previously suggested: SS playset! Mass grave digging action! Concrete wall with bullet hole stickers! Shoot the Resistance member's family and put them in the grave with the rest of the village!

Or maybe an Afrika Korps set: brew up action! Sound brick plays recorded screams as the tank burns! Children can enjoy family-friendly fun as the one that got out slowly dies of dehydration and burns! Included: british Matilda tank! Run over italian squishies! new Bloodbrick (tm) leaves stains on tracks that can be washed off and used again and again! Takes standard red ink, batteries not included.

Suuuuurrreee, riiiigghhht.
Excuse me for not leaping around in ecstasy, my nerves have burnt out with the excitement.

As Megabloks (Gherkin shudders as he thinks of the "Horror Bloks") are now doing Halo sets, maybe LEGO should consider doing video game themes, as they've done with movies. Here are some suggestions:

-Gran Turismo (tieing in with Racers)

-Burnout (same as above)

-Jak & Daxter

-Ratchet & Clank

-Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

Any more ideas?

If that's a reply to my above comment, all of these games are 12+ (or T for teen if you're from the good 'ol US of A) and below, most of which is to swearing and gore (which can't be interpreted into LEGO®).

M means mature, and as I said these games earnt their T ratings mostly through swearing and gore, which (as I said) can't be interpreted into LEGO (unless you make a Brickfilm or something).

With Indy they called the Nazis "Enemy Troops" so as not to offend the Jewish.
On the shoot stuff up note, I don't like first person WW2 shooters, however I do like to play 007: QoS on my PS2 (the PS2 version is an over the shoulder 3rd person shooter).

It does suck that lego doesn't make army stuff because of a 'family friendly' policy. But for little kids, parents should have the say on weather or not their child is allowed to have the lego. Im sure if lego made army stuff, they'd love the increased profits resulting from sales, but a policy hinders that policy.

however I do like to play 007: QoS on my PS2 (the PS2 version is an over the shoulder 3rd person shooter).

You too, huh?

I've got Nightfire on the GC.

You know, some of the sound effects are really well done.
The SG5 really makes a noise when it goes off, definitely sounds lethal.

I think LEGO should make an Indiana Jones set based on the opening of the Last Crusade, with Young Indy etc. Has anyone got any more ideas of new sets that LEGO should make (not just Indiana Jones)?

Also new theme ideas, post here!

They should make a Star Trek theme!

Also for sets, they should start making some Star Wars KOTOR sets. Those would be beastly.

Nice idea.

More movies! Star Wars and Indiana Jones are OK but that's just the icing on the cake. How about stuff like Star Trek, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, or maybe James Bond?

Maybe that's a little too far. Then they'd have to make games for the console specifically and it would be an big fuss.

However, you should be able to get LEGO "skins" for Xbox or PS3. LEGO videogames are good though. Have you played LEGO Rock Band? It's really fun!

The second one's good, but if you're over eight years old it's too easy! My brother downloaded it recently and we got to Rocket Racer in about two or three hours. Haven't got round to racing him yet!

As Megabloks (Gherkin shudders as he thinks of the "Horror Bloks") are now doing Halo sets, maybe LEGO should consider doing video game themes, as they've done with movies. Here are some suggestions:

-Gran Turismo (tieing in with Racers)

-Burnout (same as above)

-Jak & Daxter

-Ratchet & Clank

-Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

Any more ideas?

video game sets would be awesome such as the legend of zelda

Once again, the creator of lego vowed that they wouldn't make war sets!!!

Mmmm? Ever heard of Pirates? Star Wars, perhaps? Kingdoms? Even if it is fiction, it's still quite warlike. Have you seen the picture of the new 2011 LEGO set with a gun mounted on the top of a jeep? I agree with you, though. I have no wish for that kind of theme.

I'd like a theme with a lot of plants, flowers and trees involved,
hunters against enviromentalist,
colonisation of a new planet (including adapted vehicles and much vegetation)

anyway, most important I think are the presence of green, nature,
like many other builders I'd like to make extended landscapes, forests and such

ok 1. lego WILL NEVER MAKE HALO!! BECAUSE MEGABLOCKS BOUGHT THE COPYRIGHT 2 lego will never make any direct war sets that involve military factions is because lego was born during the transition from the dirty 30s to world war one. thus morrally convinceing the creator of lego to never portray war as childs play. pokemon would be fun. but i think the best THEME lego should come up with is: STAR SHIP TOOPERS. or silent hill

No, In the Lego(r) City theme there is a fire department, http://city.lego.com/en-US/Products/Default.aspx#7208 But there is nothing for them to do, they need to make a house that is on fire for the Fire department to put out.

They should do some remakes of some of the classic sets they've made in the past. For instance, bring back classic space themes, classic pirates, etc...

Definitely. The only problem is that they have to minimize the set to minimize the cost, and usually the locations sets are priiiicy. (take a look at the hoth echo base)

But I think they should bring out James Bond Lego. Agents did well, I think, but they have SOOO much potential with classic secret agent clichés. Trap doors, rockets in cars, and shark pools are some great examples of what could be done with some more agents sets or James Bond sets.

The problem with it is that the new James Bond movies are turning into more gun fights and car chases instead of gadgets. (I don't see this as a bad thing, Skyfall was great)
But if Lego were to make sets of upcoming movies, they would have to add traps of their own like they did with the Lone Ranger sets.
