Bricklink Store?

Hello Admins! I wanna start a temporary thread. We can delete it later after all questions are answered (hopefully).

Anyway...

Does anybody have a bricklink store? Some questions:

1. Paypal seems to be the default method of payment. Do I need to upgrade my account for business or can I still use the personal account setting?

2. What's the difference of paying via bank transfer as opposed to credit card? I think my account does not accept credit card payment. I may be wrong though.

3. Do you charge large envelope postage or small package postage when using a 6x9 bubble envelope? How about for smaller bubble wraps?

Here are my answers:

No, I don't have a cracklink store.

1. I have no clue.

2. I don't know.

3. Although I have not sold on bricklink, I have sold laygoes on eBay, and I used a small package envelope with bubba-wrap and that worked like a charm.

Yes, my store does quite well when I have Star Wars related items on it.

1) I use the bare bones Paypal set-up, and it pulls directly from my bank account. I buy and sell with no problems.

2) The only thing I've noticed is that when I'm paying someone it pays the exact amount. When someone is paying ME though, then Paypal charges a small percentage fee. Usually it's less than a buck.

3) To be honest I get ripped on postage because I never charge enough.....not savvy enough to answer that where you'll be even.

One thing no one warned me about that you might not know either is that Bricklink will charge you a monthly fee if you sell over a certain amount in a single month. No clue what the figures are though and was only charged once.

Thanks, Heath! Looks like I got a lot of learning to do.

Did you get a scale to weigh the envelopes?

No, I personally am not up to speed on international shipping. I did order from a person in Germany once (The Pirates Advent calendar)....took me nearly two months to get it. LOL So I try to avoid at all costs, and don't even offer international shipping in my store.

Yeah the Star Wars minifigs are what sell pretty well. I also sold the UCS Millennium Falcon directions for $50!

Oh my, this bricklink store is starting to sound like a lot of work and frustration. Gotta figure out that international shipping though since almost half of the customers are abroad. Anyway, thanks again for the input!
