MOCpages Help
Using the simple uploader

Uploading images

You can upload pictures directly onto MOCpages when you add new pages.
  1. Go to your account, http://www.mocpages.com/account.php
  2. Click on "Add a new page"
  3. Click "Add photos"
  4. Add a Main photo. This photo will appear at the top of your page and in lists.
    1. In the "Main photo" box, click on the "Browse" or "Choose file" button.
    2. Find and select the image that you want to add to your page.

  5. Add more photos. These photos will appear in the middle of your page.
    1. In each gray box, click on the "Browse" or "Choose file" button.
    2. If you have more than 8 photos to add, choose the first 8 now. You can add more later.
    3. Find and select the image that you want to add to your page.
    4. Choose a layout. This will control how text wraps around your images and how images wrap around each other. Help with layout

  6. Press "Upload your images". Wait while your pictures are copied from your computer to MOCpages. Trouble uploading?

  7. When you see the "Done" message, press "Continue".
    If you have more photos to upload, press "Add photos" again and repeat this process.

Help with layout

After you've uploaded images and pressed "Continue" to close the upload window, you'll see things in the main text box that look like this:

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_
images/1/1185039678b flat.gif">
<img src="/user_images/1/1185039
678b flat.gif_THUMB.jpg" width="175"
height="162" alt="" style="margin:10
px;"></a>

Each one of these chunks of stuff represents one of your photos. You can write about each photo right next to the chunk, creating something like this:

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_
images/1/1185039678b flat.gif">
<img src="/user_images/1/1185039
678b flat.gif_THUMB.jpg" width="175"
height="162" alt="" style="margin:10
px;"></a>
I'm writing about the first photo here.
<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_
images/1/1185039678b flat.gif">
<img src="/user_images/1/1185039
678b flat.gif_THUMB.jpg" width="175"
height="162" alt="" style="margin:10
px;"></a>
I'm writing about the second photo here.

Control wrapping with blank lines
Remember that if you leave blank lines when you write about your creation, it will create blank lines on your page.

If your images "step" horizontally across the page, add more blank lines between each image, to get them to line up under one another instead of next to each other.

If you're still having trouble getting photos and text to line up properly, try using the "center" alignment when you upload your photos. It's the easiest to work with.

Have fun, and don't be afraid to experiment.

Trouble uploading?

Large photos can take a long time to copy over the Internet, and your computer may time-out trying to copy them.

If this happens, use a photo editing program on your computer to shrink your images before you copy them to MOCpages.

(MOCpages shrinks your photos to 800x600 after you've uploaded them, anyway.)
