How do I add a photo to my page?

How to upload photos

When you add a LEGO creation, you upload (send) photos to MOCpages so it can be included on your page.
  1. Click on the You tab, and then Add a LEGO creation
  2. Click Add photos
  3. As the page loads, you might see a message that MOCpages is "requesting access to your computer". This is a normal message based on your computer's security settings. Press Allow to continue. Uploader won't start?
  4. Choose the photos you would like to add to your page:
    • Press Step 1: Choose photos and select the photos you would like to add.
    • Or open a folder on your computer where your photos are stored, and drag them directly into the uploader.
    • Repeat this to add as many as you like.
    • Remove photos by clicking the red "X" on each.
    • Rotate photos by clicking the small blue arrows next to each photo.
  5. Press the big Upload button at the bottom.
  6. Please be patient while your photos are copied to MOCpages and resized. Trouble uploading?

  7. On the next page, you will see all the photos that were copied to MOCpages.
  8. Choose one as the Main photo. It will appear at the top of your page, in search results, and in lists.
    • If you already have a main photo, or if you will add one later, or if don't want one at all, choose A different photo.
  9. Choose a layout for the other photos. This will control how text wraps around your photos. Help with layout

  10. Press Continue to place the photos on your page.

Help with layout

After you've uploaded images and pressed "Continue" to close the upload window, you'll see things in the main text box that look like this:

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_
images/1/1185039678m">
<img src="/user_images/1/1185039
678m_THUMB.jpg" width="175"
height="162" alt="" style="margin:10
px;"></a>

Each one of these chunks of stuff represents one of your photos. You can write about each photo right next to the chunk, creating something like this:

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_
images/1/1185039678m">
<img src="/user_images/1/1185039
678m_THUMB.jpg" width="175"
height="162" alt="" style="margin:10
px;"></a>
I'm writing about the first photo here.
<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_
images/1/1185039678m">
<img src="/user_images/1/1185039
678m_THUMB.jpg" width="175"
height="162" alt="" style="margin:10
px;"></a>
I'm writing about the second photo here.

Control wrapping with blank lines
If you leave blank lines when you write about your creation, it will create blank lines on your page.

If your images "step" horizontally across the page, add more blank lines between each image, to get them to line up under one another instead of next to each other.

If you're still having trouble getting photos and text to line up properly, try using the "center" alignment when you upload your photos. It's the easiest to work with.

Have fun, and don't be afraid to experiment.

Trouble uploading?

The uploader shrinks your images and then copies them over the Internet to the MOCpages servers. If you are uploading a lot of very large images (totalling over 100MB) this can take a long time and a lot of your computer's memory.

If the uploader crashes or freezes, try uploading one image at a time.

Uploader won't start?

In order to use the uploader, you must have the Java plug-in.

Most browsers already have Java, but if you use Internet Explorer 6 or 7 you will need to install it yourself. When you run the uploader the first time, you'll be prompted to install Java. Or you can visit www.java.com to download the Java plug-in yourself.

Very old computers and non-standard computers like cell phones, WebTV, iPad, or video game consoles may not support the Java plug-in.

If you can't install Java, use the simple uploader by clicking on Trouble? Try the simple uploader in the upper right corner of the page.
