I'm Julia (Jelp2244, jlp2244,and so forth), a TFOL, and I joined MOCpages in late March of 2014. (About my name, no, LeeP isn't my real last name, nor is it a misspelling, as it is an acronym-- okay, SORT of an acronym-- for my several last names. And the "P" is uppercase on purpose.) Feel free to skim the following as you wish-- no, not ALL of it is important ;)
I started building seriously a little over a year ago (the reason for my miniscule collection) through the Lego MBA program (which I got into because of Lego Star Wars, which, sadly or not, isn't even interesting for me anymore). Before I started to post on sites, I thought I was talented, as was told that I was...:P... now I know better-- I probably won't ever be as talented as some of the builders on this site, but I can try, learn, practice, and experiment. I enjoy almost all types of Lego building, quite frankly, but if I had to choose a few of my favorite groups (although these change from time to time), they would probably be historical scenes such as castles, pirates, etc., robots and mechas, and creations that I can use in real life (such as the fan I am working on right now, pencil holders, chess games, clocks, etc.).
I'm a Christian homeschooler, and yes I am a girl. I enjoy reading, writing, as my mom was an English major (perhaps you can tell ;), puzzle-solving, soccer, hiking, biking, and swimming. It's funny-- I've noticed that I'm most productive building-wise when I'm listening to music. I guess that it just inspires. Just a few of my favorite singers/bands to listen to: Gungor, Sara Groves, Audrey Assad, Sara Bareilles, Andy Grammer, Christa Wells, Rascal Flatts, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, and tobyMac. Although, for some reason, most of the time I listen to the radio while building--country and pop, normally.
My Flickr account is here, if you ever care to see higher-quality photos of my MOCs, although I'm afraid to say I don't spend that much time cleaning it up or customizing it. I also often add extra photos to Flickr. Oh, and randomly enough, I do have Lego only email if you have a question for me, need to send information securely, etc.: email@example.com.
Ready? Okay, here we go!
To cultivate my imagination, and architecture, design, and engineering skills, while connecting with FOLs of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and talents through becoming a better artist with LEGOŽ as my medium, all the while responsively representing my identity as a Christian.
Whew. You do not know how hard it was for me to get 'dat into one sentence. :P
Do you like building castles and medieval settings? How about historical scenes? Are you a LOTR buff? Do you love to read and write fiction? If you are any and every part of the above, this group is for you: The Lands Of Mythron , or the LOM. So check it out. And, if you are going to join a faction, there is no doubt about it, Mythron is the best! Seriously though, the LOM is a really great group of active FOLs, and if you join, believe me, you won't regret it.
