I've had an account on MOCpages for a few years now, and with the recent improvement, I've decided that it was time to upload some of my MOCs...
I've been around the LEGO community since 1998, since the RTL days. I've attended a few LEGO conventions (Brickfest 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, Brickworld 2007), been to a few ITLCO events (Cincinnati in 2005, Detroit in 2007, and Anaheim in 2008), I was one of the founding members and president (for a few years) of COLTC and now a member of both GFLUG/GFLTC. I'm one of the co-host of now dated LEGO podcast BrickNebula and have appeared a few time on LAMLradio (thanks James!). And I've created a web-site called BrickBuildr (also hosting iPick-a-Brick).
To be honest, one of the reason why I haven't uploaded any MOCs until now, I've been in the community for a long time and around so many great MOC builder, that I've been a little intimidated and in awe. But for the past few years, since moving to Florida, I've had time to build, with yearly deadlines.
GFLUG's largest annual event is Festival of the Masters (FotM). FotM is an art event that takes place in Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Hundreds of arts display their art & compete at FotM. There are chalk artists throughout the west-side. And for the last 8 years, the LEGO Imagination Center has asked GFLUG to display their LEGO "art" in front of the store to over 200K (on average) people in a weekend. Every year, a theme is picked for FotM and club members build MOCs fitting into the theme (the themes are picked broad enough for everyone to participate, wether you like space, castle, town, or bionicle). This yearly event had challenged me to become more creative. :)
