Accurate + to-scale military lego, mainly WWII. Puma, Hummer, Tanks, Halftracks...

I mostly build WWII ground vehicles, but have been known to dabble in aircraft, and even more rarely, in watercraft. My forte has always been wheeled vehicles, but now with the aquisition of a small amount of tracklinks, I've been building light tanks and halftracks as well.

I almost always incorporate suspension in my wheeled vehicles, using my own custom design that I came up with back in high school (i'm 24 now). I do have a modified lego suspension system, based on the normal suspension concept, that flexes extremely well. I've developed to forms recently.

Yes, I do modify pieces occasionaly. Normaly I modify only minifig related things, like accurate and to-scale weapons and uniforms. The lego purist will still be able to enjoy him/herself at my page, as most of my stuff is legal. As with my mods, I only use lego, 100%, just cut and glued and sometimes painted.

One thing to consider about modifying lego is how do you define modifying? I myself believe that cutting lego rods to the desired length is very minor modifying. Rods come in so many lengths, and should come in 1-3 stud length anyways. I do however believe that building lego should be a challenge, and one shouldn't be so quick to cut and glue to make something work. There is no reason to do modifying on vehicles, only weapons and figures, in my opinion.

My minifigs are extensively modifed, as are their weapons and equipment. I do this because it is impossible, in my opinion, to make minifig scale accurate weapons like the MP-40, AK47, or M-16. I'm sick of seeing ridiculously large weapons held by minifigs, looking like they are going to fall over. Also, uniforms are an issue, as lego does not make many bodies suitable for an accurate soldier. A few exceptions to this are my panzer crew uniforms (PzKpw I tank to your left) and my Afrika Korps uniforms, which need only minor "scratching" with a hobby knife. As for the current BRICKARMS craze, good for them, but i prefer to do it myself, and use only lego. i never touch megablox and never will purchase brickarms. i'm always ready to respond to hate-mail and answer any questions so email me at urthedead@shaw.ca
