News:

Total DC death toll: 61,003
Total casualty (excluding deaths): 308,030
Missing in action (MIA): 3097

A harsh winter has somewhat halted the advancement of troops into the Al-Dabir Mountains due to a high risk of Avalanches and deep snow. ONly tracked vehciles have been able to make progress, with jeeps and trucks getting stuck in the deep snow, or cuaght un-aware in drifting snow.

Elsewhere, the battle continues in the towns and cities as the UCF forces start to push the SPA out of Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Jordan. Plans are being made to launch attacks into Iran and India.

The Desert Commandos/ United Commonwealth Forces:

Originally, from England, the Desert Commandos were an elite commando force during the first Eastern Europe War. They were highly trained in search and destroy tactics, and guerrilla warfare. In short, they were pretty much complete b*st*rds to the enemy. As the war drew to a close, the Desert Commandos had a force of 10,000 strong, and it kept growing as the leaders saw the huge advantage of them. 2 years after the war ended, the Desert Commandos became a registered Army, with over 26,000 troops. As the second Eastern Europe war kicked off, 6 years after the first one ended, the DC numbered in at 60,000 active soldiers, in other words, 60,000 soldiers ready to fight. However, they were small compared to the main armies. During the 3 year war, with a loss of 2,500 DC soldiers, the DC grew by 20,000, now numbering in at 77,500 soldiers. The 2nd E-E war ended 20 years ago. As time progressed, the DC grew in size, and expanded it's reach to the 3 main branches: Ground, Air and Sea. Therefore, it was no longer a 'commando' group, but a complete army.

Modern History:

Becuase the DC are no longer just a Commando Unit, the name Desert Commando's has become a nickname and the correct name, UCF, United Commonwealth Forces has been given. Now, the UCF are one of the most advanced armies in the world, in joint position with the SPA. They are currently fighting, once again, in Eastern Europe, now against the Sitirians. The War has recently been getting worse, as more fighting has occurred between the two sides. The total death toll from this war rises each week. The attacks are becoming more frequent, and more brutal. The two main lines of Defence, the Al-Dabir line in Eastern Europe, and the San Diago line in Western Europe, have proved to be effective enough to slow down any major SPA invasion, although they are trying to break through.

Storyline:

The Sitirian Republic started spreading its influence a few years before the time when the story takes place. They got quite a bit of territory, and threw down several resistance groups in the process. However during the fighting with the resistance groups, many innocents were killed for "links" with the resistance, and much looting occurred as law and order started to break down. This caught the attention of the DC, who, having had a war in the same territory earlier and restored the peace, decided it was in their nature to help bring the law and order back, after all, they were on peace keeping duty. What they forgot to do was to ask the Sitirian Republic for permission to enter their new territory, as the DC thought is was still under the original command. As the DC entered the territory, they came under fire from several Sitirian Republic squads, acting on a "Shoot first, ask questions later" policy. The DC, unsure as who these people were, panaiced and shot back, causing several Sitirian soldiers were killed and many more to be injured. A group of 10 were mown down when they tried to get to cover by a heavy machine gun on the top of a jeep, moments later, the jeep was blown to bits by an RPG. The DC fired back with more machine guns after a jeep patrol arrived on scene and added to the mayhem. A Wolf Tank joined in the battle, and blasted several buildings with SPA soldiers in to rubble, then decided to run over thier trucks. This caused more Sitirian Republic soldiers to arrive, as re-inforcements, resulting in the figthing escalting as both sides starting firing volloey after volley of bullets at each other, determinined to cause as much damage as possible. After SPA tanks arrived on scene and set about blasting everything will HE shells, the remaing DC soldiers tried to retreat, but were cut off by several tanks and squads, suffering heavy losses, then, they tried to flee, but were cut down and slaughtered. Moments later, air support flew over and launched guided missiles and used napalm against the invading forces, effectively wiping out all trace of the conflict. Shortly after this skirmish, the Sitirian Republic Commanders declared war on the DC for invading their territory and killing their men. The DC declared war on the Sitirians, for invading the area and firing on thier soldiers.
